FEMA Grant - Avon - Friday - March 5th, 2010 FEMA announced round 5 of the Firefighter Assistance Grants on Friday March 5th, 2010. The Village of Avon Fire Department was awarded a $79,800 Grant for Personal Protective Equipment. |

Structure Fire - Mt. Morris - Friday - March 5, 2010 The Mt. Morris Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to a reported structure fire, fire in the ceiling at the Mt. Morris Village DPW, 32 Mill Street, the afternoon of Friday March 5th, 2010. Mt. Morris Command requested Leicester Fire Department to the scene, but were re-routed to fill in for Mt. Morris while enroute. The Mt. Morris Village Police assisted at the scene. The fire is being investigated by the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management. |

New Pumper - Lima - March 2nd, 2010 Lima's new 2010 Pierce Sabre PUC Pumper has arrived in Lima, before going to Churchville for delivery prep. The new pumper has seating for 6, it has a 1250 gpm pump, 1000 gal. water tank, a 30 gal. foam tank, and custom front bumper to hold Lima's Amkus Rescue Tools. Pictures coming soon. |

Structure Fire - Mt. Morris - Wednesday - February 17th, 2010 On Wednesday February 17th, Mount Morris Fire and EMS were dispatched for a possible structure fire at the Bellamy Hill Apartments on Columbus Avenue in the Village of Mount Morris. Car 4102 went on location with nothing showing but after further investigation a working fire was declared. Mutual Aid was requested from Leicester to the scene and Nunda to standby in Mount Morris's Hall. Structure Fire - Geneseo - Tuesday - February 16th, 2010 On Tuesday February 16, Geneseo Fire and EMS were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 33 North St in the Village of Geneseo. First arriving fire units encountered a working fire. An aggressive interior attack held fire damage to the room of origin with smoke throughout the apartment. Apparently a Sweater place on a gas heater for drying sparked the blaze. Mount Morris Fire was called in to standby in Geneseo's hall. Story provided by Jay Lynch. Snowmobile Fire - Livonia - Thursday - February 11th, 2010 On Thursday afternoon, February 11, Livonia firefighters were dispatched to a reported snowmobile on fire on Conesus Lake, just south of Camp Stella Maris. Assistant Fire Chief Dan Miller arrived on location and reported the snowmobile was fully-involved . The fire was quickly extinguished. There were no injuries. MVA - Dansville - Saturday - February 6th, 2010 The Dansville Fire Department and Ambulance along with Livingston County ALS were dispatched to a 1 vehicle MVA with injury on Sahrles Road on Saturday morning February 6th, 2010 at approximately 2:00am. The fire department went on location reporting a vehicle into an embankment, 3 patients, 1 being a medical 500. Dansville Ambulance transported the patients to an area hospital. The Medical 500 was unfortunately pronounced deceased after arriving at the hospital. Investigating the cause of the accident is the Livingston County Sheriff's Office. Assisting at the scene was the New York State Police and the Livingston County Corners Office. |

Structure Fire - Springwater - Friday - January
29th, 2010 The Springwater Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched for a reported structure fire at 7873 North Main Street the afternoon of Friday January 29th, 2010. Car 54 went on location with a working fire. Several area fire departments battle the blaze for several hours in near zero degree weather. Mutual aid to the scene included: Wayland Fire Department, Perkinsville Fire Department, Sparta Fire Department, Hemlock Fire Department, Dansville Fire Department, Conesus Fire Department, and Livonia Ambulance. Investigating the cause of the fire is the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management. Assisting at the scene was the New York State Police, the Livingston County Sheriff's Office, and the American Red Cross. 28th, 2010 The Springwater Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched for a reported structure fire on Carney Hollow Road in the area of Pokey Moonshine Road the afternoon of Thursday January 28th, 2010. Mutual Aid to the scene was Wayland Fire Department, Perkinsville Fire Department, and Hemlock Fire Department. Investigating the cause of the Fire is the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management. Assisting at the scene was the New York State Police. |

House Fire - Bethany - Tuesday - January 26th, 2010 On Tuesday, January 26th., Bethany Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a house fire at 5823 East Bethany Le Roy Rd in the Town of Bethany. First arriving fire units encountered heavy smoke and flames from the back of the house with two exposures in close proximity. Departments assisting Bethany were Alexander, Pavilion, LeRoy, Stafford, City of Batavia, Town of Batavia, Bergen, Wyoming, Genesee Co. Emergency Management, and Genesee Co. Sheriff Department. MVA - Geneseo - Friday - January 22nd, 2010 The Geneseo Fire Department and Ambulance along with Livingston County ALS were dispatched to a reported vehicle into the river at the bottom of Dewey Hill at the Geneseo / Leicester Town Line. Arriving Sheriff's Deputies confirmed that a witness saw a vehicle drive into the river. Geneseo Fire Department deployed their boat. Additional resources that were requested to the seen were: Jimmy's Sales and Service (from Leicester) for their heavy wrecker, Livonia Fire Department and Lakeville Fire Department Boats, and divers from the Livingston County Sheriff's Office and the New York State Police. Livonia Fire Departments boat was deployed to assist Geneseo Fire Departments with the divers while Lakeville Fire Departments boat stood by ready to be deployed. The East Avon Fire Department stood by in Geneseo's fire station while Geneseo was at the incident. Despite the attempts of the rescuers, the operator vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene once the vehicle was recovered from the river. Structure Fire - Honeoye - Tuesday - January 19th, 2010 On Tuesday evening, January 19, 2010 the Honeoye/Richmond Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a barn fire at 5565 Holden Drive in the town of Canadice. Firefighters arrived on location and found a metal pole barn fully-involved in flames. Due to the remote location of the structure, water needed to be shuttled to the scene by tankers and pumped approximately a 1/4 mile up a driveway to the fire. Mutual aid was requested to the scene from Bristol and Naples fire departments. Livonia and Hemlock firefighters were placed on stand-by at the Honeoye fire station. The fire was brought under control in about ninety minutes. There were no injuries. The cause of the fire was under investigation by the Ontario County Office of Emergency Management. House Fire - Pavilion - Sunday - January 17th, 2010 On Sunday January 17, Pavilion Fire Department was dispatched for a possible house fire at 11072 Route 19 in the Town of Pavilion. First arriving fire units encountered smoke from the structure and requested a second alarm. An aggressive fire attack was able to keep the damage to the Washer Dryer area of the home. Departments assisting Pavilion were Bethany, Stafford, Le Roy, Alexander, Town of Batavia, Leicester, York, Perry, Perry Center, Wyoming, Genesee County Emergency Management and Genesee County Sheriff Department. MVA - East Avon - Sunday - January 3rd, 2010 On Sunday morning, January 3, East Avon Fire and Avon EMS responded to a reported rollover MVA, with the vehicle on fire, on Pole Bridge Road, just north of the railroad overpass. Car 27 went on location and reported the car fully-involved. The driver of the vehicle was able to escape the wreckage uninjured. Controlled Burn - Bethany - Saturday January 2nd, 2010 On Saturday January 2nd., Bethany Fire Department, Under the direction of Chief Jeff Wolak conducted interior fire training using the old structure at 9417 Bethany Center Rd in the Town of Bethany. The structure has been used on several occasions by area fire departments for training in all aspects of firefighting. At the conclusion of todays interior training the home was used in a live burn exercise. The temperature on the fire ground at the time of the drill was 8 very cold degrees. MVA - East Avon - Monday December 28th, 2009 The East Avon Fire Department and Avon Ambulance with ALS, were dispatched to a reported tractor trailer off the road and into a pole on West Henrietta Road between North Avon Road and the county line on Monday December 28th, 2009. Car 27 went on location with a confirming a tractor trailer, loaded with cars, off the road into a pole, and National Grid was on location. Structure Fire - Avon - Wednesday December 23rd, 2009 The Avon Fire Department and Avon Ambulance were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 21 Valley Lane at approximately 23:53 hours. Avon PD and Car 22 went on location with heavy smoke from the eaves. Car 22 declared a working fire and requested a pumper from East Avon to the scene and a Pumper and a Rescue from Caledonia to fill in for Avon. Avon Ambulance went on location and requested a second ambulance to the scene. Lima Ambulance responded do to Avon's primary ambulance on another call. Car 22 requested Caledonia Fire Department to the scene and Geneseo to Fill Avon. East Avon requested Lima Fire Department for a fill in. Car 22 requested a third ambulance to the scene to assist with rehab, Geneseo Ambulance responded until Avon's primary ambulance returned from the hospital. Lima Ambulance transported one victim to an area hospital. Investigating the cause of the fire is the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management and the Avon Village Police Department. Ventilation Training - Bethany - Saturday December 19th, 2009 On Saturday December 19th., Bethany and Pavilion firefighters spent the afternoon conducting Ventilation and Ladder handling training. The old structure on Bethany Center Rd in the Town of Bethany has been used by several departments in the passed weeks and has given the firefighters the opportunity to train in a controlled and safe environment. Structure Fire - Honeoye- Sunday December 13th, 2009 On Sunday afternoon, December 13, at 2:43 p.m., Honeoye and Bristol fire departments were dispatched to a report of a chimney fire 4971 East Lake Road. Fire units arrived on location and found smoke showing from the two-story house. Honeoye Fire Chief Rick Frost requested additional interior firefighters to the scene from Hemlock and West Bloomfield. Minutes later, a second call was received for another chimney fire on Edgewood Trail. Bristol firefighters responding to the initial fire were re-routed to handle that assignment. That situation was brought swiftly under control. The East Lake Road fire was declared under control at 3:27 p.m., with damages limited to the area of the wood stove pipe. Livonia and Naples firefighters were called in to stand by at the Honeoye fire station. Lakeville FD filled in at Livonia. There were no reported injuries. Structure Fire - Groveland- Saturday December 12th, 2009 The early morning of Saturday December 12th, 2009 the Groveland Fire Department and Dansville Ambulance were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 5262 Bath Road. Car 3202 went on location with a working structure fire. Mutual aid was requested to the scene from Conesus Fire Department, Hemlock Fire Department, Sparta Fire Department, Springwater Fire Department, Dansville Fire Department, Cuylerville Fire Department, Mt. Morris Fire Department, Perkinsville Fire Department, and West Sparta Fire Department. Numerous Fire Departments provided stand by coverage for departments at the scene. Investigating the cause of the fire is the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management. Assisting at the scene were the Livingston County Sheriff's Office and the American Red Cross. MVA - Groveland- Friday December 11th, 2009 On Friday morning December 11th, 2009 the Groveland Fire Department, Geneseo Ambulance, and Livingston County ALS were dispatched to a vehicle off the Road on 390 North near Pioneer Road. Updates while enroute were at tractor trailer off the road with the driver road side needing medical attention. Car 3202 went on location and reported a tractor trailer off the road with one injured. Geneseo Ambulance with ALS transported one patient to an area hospital. Assisting Grovland Fire Department were the Sparta and West Sparta Fire Departments. Morris Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to a reported combine fire on Dutch Street Road the morning or Sunday December 6th, 2009. NYSP 3E81 went on location with a working combine fire 10 feet off the road, not near any structures. Investigating the fire is the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management. |

Structure Fire - Dansville- Friday December 4th, 2009 The Dansville Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 35 Bank Street the evening of Friday December 4th, 2009 at approximately 8:35pm. Dansville PD arrived and advised Dispatch that their was a working fire in an apartment house and not everyone was accounted for. The first crews attacked the fire and initiated a search and located a male victim. Despite rescue efforts by the fire department and ambulance, the victim did not survive the fire. Investigating the cause of the fire is the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management. The Sparta Fire Department filled in for Dansville while they were at the scene. |
