Structure Fire - Livonia - Thursday - February 5th, 2009

The Livonia Fire Department and Livonia Ambulance along with automatic mutual aid for a Quint from Honeoye Fire Department were dispatched to a reported barn fire on South Livonia Road the evening of Thursday, February 5th, 2009 shortly after 9:00pm.  Livonia Command reported a working fire and requested Lakeville, Conesus, Hemlock, Geneseo, and East Avon to assist at the scene or with stand bys.  Photos by Jeffrey Arnold.

 
Structure Fire - Livonia - Saturday - January 17th, 2009

The Livonia Fire Department and Ambulance along with automatic mutual aid Honeoye's Quint responded to a reported chimney fire at 6874 Richmond Mills Road the morning of Saturday January 17th, 2009.  Car 2502 went on location with a working structure fire.  Lakeville and Hemlock Fire Departments responded to assist Livonia and Honeoye.  Conesus Fire Department filled in for Livonia.  Investigating the cause of the fire is the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management.  Assisting at the scene was the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.

Structure Fire - Livonia - Sunday - July 13th, 2008

On Sunday, July 13, at 4:51 p.m., Livonia and Geneseo fire departments were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 6272 Decker Road in the town of Livonia.  Livonia Fire Chief Lari Whiting arrived on scene and reported a working fire in a two-unit apartment house. He requested two additional engine companies from Lakeville and Conesus fire departments.  Interior fire crews found a fire burning in a second-floor bedroom, which was quickly extinguished.  Investigation into the cause of the fire, found that a fan tipped over into a pile of clothes and ignited them.  The Livingston County Office of Emergency Management, Livingston County Sheriff's Office and Livonia EMS also responded to the scene. Hemlock and East Avon Fire Department's were placed on stand-by. There were no injuries.  Story and photos by Jeffrey Arnold.

 
Structure Fire - Livonia - Saturday - April 26th, 2008

The Livonia Fire Department and Livonia Ambulance were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 6125 Price Road the afternoon of Saturday April 26th, 2008.  Car 25 went on location and reported a working fire.  Responding Livonia firefighters quickly realized that the fire was the residence of their Captain, Dan Miller.  Mutual aid to the scene was requested from: Lima, Lakeville, Hemlock, Geneseo, and Conesus.  Hemlock also along with East Avon provided a fill in for Livonia and Mt. Morris filled in for Geneseo.  The American Red Cross is assisting the family.  Investigating the cause of the fire is the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management.  Assisting at the scene was the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.  Pictures provided by Curt & Christa Grant.

 
Structure Fire - Livonia - Wednesday - April 16th, 2008

At approximately 12:30 pm on Wednesday, April 16, Livonia Fire and EMS were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 6710 Richmond Mills Road.  Firefighters initially found nothing showing from the outside of the single-story home but upon further investigation, found the inside of the house charged with smoke. Interior fire crews found that the fire was in the basement. Mutual aid was requested to the scene from Richmond, Hemlock, Lakeville and Geneseo fire departments.  The blaze was brought under control in about 20 minutes. There were no injuries. Structure Fire - Livonia - Wednesday - November 28th, 2007

The Livonia Fire Department and Livonia Ambulance along with mutual aid from Honeoye Fire Department for a Quint were dispatched to a reported Chimney Fire with the house filling with smoke at 7051 Richmond Mills Road the evening of Wednesday November 28th, 2007.  Assisting at the scene was the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.

 

Andrew Eve

Nov. 11, 1973 - Aug. 13, 2007

It is with deep regret we had to report the untimely death of Andrew "Drew" Eve from the Livonia Fire Department.  Andrew passed away Monday evening August 13th, 2007 surrounded by his family.  Andrew fought a long and courageous battle with Cystic Fibrosis.  Andrew's wishes where to have his body donated to science for Cystic Fibrosis research & there were NO Calling Hours & NO Funeral, Andrew's family honored this.  Andrew requested a Celebration of Life gathering.  That was held on Friday August 17th, 2007 at 1:00pm at Long Point Park, on Conesus Lake; West Lake Road, Geneseo.   Andrew was a Livonia Firefighter, former EMT-I with Livonia EMS, a New York State Fire Instructor, Livingston County E911 Police/Fire/EMS Dispatcher, & a friend to all.  A Blog has been created to post Memorials to the Eve Family and so you can post your favorite "Drew" story.

 
Controlled Burn - Livonia - Monday - April 9th, 2007

On Monday evening, April 9th., The Livonia Fire Department held a multi department training exercise in an old house at 4941 South Livonia Rd in the Town of Livonia. The house had been used previously by the department for different training evaluations prior to this evenings live fire exercise. Hemlock Fire, with there new pumper, laid a LDH supply line and hit the Hydrant to supply water to Livonia's two pumpers at the fire building. Hand lines were deployed on the north and south sides as well as the front of the house prior to lighting the fire. Departments involved with Livonia for this evenings training were Livonia EMS, Hemlock, Conesus, Lakeville and Richmond.  Story and Photos by Jay Lynch.

 
 
Structure Fire - Livonia - Tuesday - January 23rd, 2007

On Tuesday evening, January 23rd, 2007 the Livonia Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to a reported garage fire on South Livonia Road.  2501 Brad Austin went on location and declared a working fire.  2501 requested Lakeville and Geneseo to the scene with 1 pumper and interior firefighters from each department.  East Avon was requested for 1 pumper to fill in Lakeville for both Lakeville and Livonia Fire Departments.  Investigating the cause of the fire is the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management.  Assisting at the scene was the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.  Photos provided by Jeffrey Arnold.

 
MVA - Livonia - Saturday - January 20th, 2007

On Saturday, January 20, Livonia Fire and EMS responded to a two-car MVA with people trapped on Route 15 near Van Zandt Road. Lakeville FD was requested to set up an LZ for Mercy Flight at the Livonia fire station. Two helicopters flew two patients to Strong, and a third was transported to Strong via Geneseo EMS and Medic 79. MVA - Livonia - Tuesday - January 9th, 2007

The Lakeville Fire Department, Livonia Ambulance, and Livonia ALS were dispatched to a reported roll over MVA on Bronson Hill Road between Stone Hill Road and South Lima Road the morning of Tuesday, January 9th, 2007.  Car 21 went on location with a vehicle on its top and he was told the victim was in a residence.  No patient was transported.  Investigating the cause of the accident is the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.

Truck Company Operations Training - Livonia - Sunday - September 24th, 2006

On Sunday September 24th the Livonia and Geneseo Fire Departments held a department training session at an old building at Camp Stella Maris in the Town of Livonia.  The building was used for Truck Company Operations.  Roof Ventilation and Forcible Entry evaluations were conducted.  Firefighters were also able to practice survival skills.  Controlled Burn - Livonia - September 10th, 2006

On Sunday September 10th, The Livonia Fire Department conducted a live fire exercise at an old cottage on Conesus Lake.  The cottage at 5735 Old Orchard Pt had been used by the fire department previously  for training. Structure Fire - Livonia - Wednesday April 12th, 2006

The Livonia Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to a reported shed fire at the intersection of South Livonia Road (State Rt. 15) and Decker Road, the evening of Wednesday April 12th, 2006.  Lakeville Fire Department filled in while Livonia was at the fire.  Investigating the cause of the fire is the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management.  Assisting at the scene was the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.  Pictures provided by Jeffrey Arnold.

The Livonia Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to a reported Chimney Fire at 3829 Federal Road on Wednesday January 18th, 2006.  Assisting at the scene was the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management

Haz Mat - Livonia - Monday - November 28, 2005

 The Livonia Fire Department and Ambulance responded to a gasoline spill at West's Shur Fine, 1 Main St. Livonia at 2:30 pm on Monday November 28, 2005.  First in firefighters, under the direction of 1st Asst. Chief Lari Whiting, found approximately 20 gallons of free gasoline in a containment pit under the East set of pumps.  Power to the pumps was shut off and the Livingston County Haz Mat Team was called in to remove the free product.  Haz Mat team members Brian Mastin and Tom LaMonte packed up and used an air transfer pump to drain the pit into an overpac drum for later disposal.  Story and Photos provided by Tom Pearson.

The Livonia Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to a reported house fire on Saturday November 19th, 2005 at approximately 7:30pm.  Assisting at the scene was the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.  Investigating the cause of the fire is the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management. 

 

Motor Vehicle Accident - Livonia Thursday November 17th, 2005

The Livonia Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to a roll over motor vehicle accident on Stone Hill Road in the area of Plank Road on Thursday November 17th, 2005 at approximately 7;45am.  Assisting at the scene was the DOT.  Investigating the cause of the accident was the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.

 

Motor Vehicle Accident - Livonia- Friday November 11th, 2005

The Livonia Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to a reported motor vehicle accident on Friday November 11th, 2005 at approximately 5:15pm on Big Tree Street.  Investigating the cause of the accident is the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.

The Livonia Fire Department and the Livonia Ambulance with ALS were dispatched to a reported motor vehicle accident in the area of the 4900 Block of South Livonia Road on Tuesday November 8th, 2005 at approximately 7:45pm.  Livonia Ambulance transported to an area hospital.  Investigating the cause of the accident is the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.

 

MVA - Livonia - Monday Oct. 31st, 2005

The Livonia Fire Department, Ambulance, and ALS Medic 74 were dispatched to a Motor Vehicle Accident on Monday October 31st, 2005 at approximately 3:15pm.  The Livonia Ambulance with ALS transported a patient to an area hospital.  The Lima Ambulance was called to the scene to assist, however did not transport.  Investigating the cause of the accident is the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.

 
Structure Fire - Livonia - Commercial Auto - Tuesday - June 21st, 2005
 
The Livonia Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to a reported structure fire at Commercial Automotive on the evening of Tuesday, June 21st, 2005 at approximately 6:30pm.  Car 2501 went on location with smoke showing.  Car 2501 requested a Pumper from Lakeville and Hemlock to the scene.  East Avon Filled in for Lakeville.  Assisting at the scene was the Livingston County Sheriff's Office and the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management.  Photos provided by Jeffrey Arnold.

MVA - Livonia - Thursday - July 22nd, 2004

The Livonia Fire Department, Livonia Ambulance, and Livonia Ambulance ALS were dispatched to a reported 2 car MVA on East Lake Road near Van Zandt Road on Thursday evening, July 22nd, at approximately 21:30 hrs.  Responding units went on location with a 2 car Head On MVA with multiple injuries.  Additional ambulances from Geneseo and Lima and ALS from Avon and Monroe Ambulance responded to assist Livonia Ambulance.  Both of Livonia's ambulances along with Geneseo's ambulance transported patients to area hospitals.  Lima obtained a sign off and went back in service.  Investigating the cause of the accident is the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.

 

Camper Fire - Livonia - Saturday April 3rd, 2004

The Livonia Fire Department, Ambulance, and ALS were dispatched to a reported Camper Fire, near the structure on Coe Road on Saturday afternoon April 3rd, 2004.  Investigating the cause of the fire is the Livingston County Bureau of Fire.  Assisting at the scene was the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.  Photo's provided by Jeffrey Arnold.

 

Structure Fire - Livonia - Thursday  April 1st, 2004

The Livonia Fire Department, Ambulance, and ALS were dispatched to a reported structure fire at the Livonia Station Grille located at 18 Livonia Station on Thursday April 1st, 2004 at approximately 05:30am.  Car 2501 went on location and confirmed a structure fire on the East side of the building in the area of an exit door. The fire was under control rather quickly and units returned to service at approximately 07:00am.  At approximately 09:20, Livonia Fire Department, Ambulance, and ALS were dispatched back to the same location for a fire in the attic area.  Car 2502 went on location and requested Geneseo to the scene with one pumper and one ladder tower.  Car 2502 also requested Lakeville Fire Department to fill in for Livonia.  Investigating the cause of the fire is the Livingston County Bureau of Fire.  Assisting at the scene was the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.  Photo's provided by Tom Pearson.
