Controlled Burn - Cuylerville ~ Leicester - Sunday - June 14th, 2009

On Sunday June 14th. the Leicester and Cuylerville Fire Departments conducted a controlled burn at 3257 Cuylerville Rd in the Town of Leicester.  Departments assisting Leicester and Cuylerville were Mount Morris, York and Perry Center.  Story and Photos by Jay Lynch.

 
Controlled Burn - Leicester - Wednesday - May 13th, 2009

On Wednesday evening, May 13th., The Leicester and Cuylerville Fire Departments conducted live fire training at 2417 Peoria Rd in the Town of Leicester. An old double wide mobile home was the object of the evenings training. York Fire Department was on standby for Leicester during the controlled burn.  Story and Photos by Jay Lynch.

Structure Fire - Leicester - Tuesday - August 19th, 2008

On Tuesday, August 19th. a Livingston County Sheriff Deputy patrolling in the Village of Leicester reported a house fire at 16 South Street. Deputy Matthew Orman called in the alarm at 2:58 pm then proceeded to assisted the family from the residence. Investigators have determined that a Box Fan had shorted out causing the fire.  Departments responding to the fire or to Standby were Leicester, Cuylerville, Mount Morris, Mount Morris Ambulance, York, Perry, Perry Center, Perry Ambulance, Geneseo, Geneseo Ambulance, Nunda, Caledonia, Avon, Pavilion, Livingston County Medic 79, Livingston County Sheriff Department and Livingston County Emergency Management.  Story and Photos by Jay Lynch.

Training - Leicester - Sunday - October 28th, 2007

On Sunday October 28th,The Leicester Fire Department conducted a live fire exercise in the Village of Leicester. The home at 25 York Rd was used by the firefighters for training activities the last two week that ended with a Controlled Burn this morning.  York set up to draft at the creek and supplied water to the north side of the fire building while Leicester set up two port-a-tanks and established a tanker shuttle at the corner of Main St. and York Rd to supply the south side.  Departments participating in the mornings activities with Leicester were Cuylerville, York, Mount Morris and West Sparta on standby  for Mount Morris.  Story and photos by Jay Lynch.

 
Training - Leicester - Wednesday - October 17th & 24th, 2007

On Wednesday October 17th. and again on the 24th. The Leicester and Mount Morris Fire Departments had the opportunity to conduct training evolution's on an  old home in the Village of Leicester. This home allowed the firefighters to train in a more realistic environment without the worry of creating unwanted damage to the building.  Leicester Firefighter Jeff Loudin brings his knowledge and experience to the department from 11 years as a Professional Firefighter and oversaw many of the evolution's. SCBA, Roof Ventilation, Search and Rescue and Survival Skills were discussed and practiced over the past two evenings.  Story and photos by Jay Lynch.

 
Garage Fire - Leicester - Sunday - March 18th, 2007

On Sunday March 18th, The Leicester Fire Department was dispatched to a reported garage fire at 38 South Street in the Village of Leicester. First units on the scene encountered a fully involved garage. Departments assisting Leicester were Cuylerville and Mount Morris at the scene and York on Standby.  Investigating the fire is the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management.  Assisting at the scene was the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.  Story and photos provided by Jay Lynch.

Structure Fire - Leicester - Tuesday - October 31st, 2006

Leicester Fire Department was dispatched Tuesday morning, October 31 To 134 Main Street, The Elijah House for an automatic alarm of Fire. Car 13 went on location and encountered  smoke and fire on the second floor. Mutual aid was requested from Cuylerville, Mount Morris, York/Retsof, Perry, Mount Morris Ambulance, Geneseo Ambulance and Livingston County EMS. The bulk of the fire was contained to a bed room  by an internal sprinkler system. Pictures and story provided by Jay Lynch.

 

Foam Training ~ Leicester ~ Wednesday ~ October 18th, 2006

On Wednesday October 18th, The Leicester and Pavilion Fire Departments trained on there new KME trucks at the Leicester Fire Hall. A representative from FoamPro was on hand to assist with training on the new Foam Systems that each truck is equipped with. Driver Training - Leicester - Sunday - September 17th, 2006

Sunday September 17th the Leicester Fire Department held a training session on the new apparatus that they have received. Setting up at a dry hydrant on Peoria Rd in the town. Department members spent time familiarizing themselves with the operations of the new trucks.   Story and Photos provided by Jay M. Lynch.

 

House Fire - Leicester - Monday - August 28th, 2006

The Leicester Fire Department and Cuylerville Ambulance were dispatched to a reported drier fire on Monday afternoon August 28th, 2006 at approximately 4:45pm.  Arriving chiefs were met with heavy smoke and declared a working fire.  Cuylerville and Retsof Fire Departments responded to the scene to assist.  The Mt. Morris Fire Department stood by for Leicester and Cuylerville.  Mt. Morris Ambulance with Medic 75 transported one patient to an area hospital.  Geneseo Ambulance provided an ambulance for rehab.  Assisting at the scene was the Livingston County Sheriff's Office and the Northern Livingston Chapter of the American Red Cross. 

 

Leicester ~ New KME/Spartan Pumper

Members of the Leicester Fire Department traveled to the KME Factory in Pennsylvania on Monday August 14th to preview  their new trucks.  Finally delivery is expected near the end of August.  Here are pictures of their new Pumper 134 a built by KME on a Spartan Chassis. 

Leicester ~ New KME Mini Pumper

Leicester is also taking deliver of a new KME Mini Pumper on a Ford F550 Chassis. The mini pumper has a 500 gpm pump and 250 gallon tank.  Photos provided by Jack Yasso.

 

Structure Fire - Leicester - Monday January 9th, 2006

The Leicester Fire Department and Cuylerville Ambulance were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 46 South Parkway on Monday evening Jan. 9th, 2006.  The Cuylerville Fire Department was requested to the scene.  The Livingston County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.
