Controlled Burn - Attica - Saturday September 16th, 2006 On Saturday September 16th the Attica Fire Department hosted a controlled burn at 51 South Pearl St. in the Village. The old vacant house that was used for this drill was very close ( 40' ) to an adjacent structure. Large quantities of water were at the ready. In all, 6 Port-a-tanks and two hydrants were hit. Master streams were set up as well as many hand lines. Because of the proximity to the house next door a water curtain was also set up Departments from Genesee and Wyoming county's assisting Attica were Alexander, Bethany, Darien, Town of Batavia, North Java, Bennington, Varysburg, Warsaw and Wyoming.
