Geneseo Fire Department and Ambulance operate of a single fire station.  Their Headquarters is located at 129 Center Street in the Village of Geneseo.

The Geneseo Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to a two car MVA on Lakeville Groveland Road in the area of Booher Hill Road the evening of Monday December 22nd, 2008.  Responding units encountered a two car MVA with one vehicle off the road and the other vehicle into a utility pole.   Geneseo Ambulance transported one patient to an area hospital.  Investigating the accident is the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.  Assisting at the scene was the New York State Police.

On Tuesday December 9th. Geneseo Fire Department was dispatched to a possible furnace fire at  4243 Reservoir Rd  in the Town of Geneseo. Car 31 went on location and declared a working fire in the garage. Mount Morris was requested to stand by in Geneseo.  Assisting at the scene was the Livingston County Sheriff's Office and the Geneseo Police Department.  Investigating the cause of the fire is the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management.  Story and Photos by Jay Lynch.

The Geneseo Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to a reported barn fire on Lima Road on the evening of Monday, November 24th, 2008.  The Livingston County E911 Center received several calls reporting a fully involved barn fire.   Car 31 requested mutual aid to the scene from York, Cuylerville, and Lakeville.  Mt Morris Fire Department stood by for Geneseo, East Avon stood by for Lakeville, and Caledonia filled in for York.  Investigating the cause of the fire is the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management.  Assisting at the scene was the Livingston County Sheriff's Office and the Geneseo Village Police Department. 

The Geneseo Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to a reported structure fire on Saturday November 22nd, 2008 at approximately 2:30pm at 5029 Reservoir Road.  While responding units were advised a possible drier fire.  Units went on location with what appeared to be clothes burning in the driveway.  Geneseo Fire Department removed smoke from the house.  Prior to leaving Geneseo Fire Department installed 3 working smoke detectors in the residence.  Story and Photos by Curt Grant.

The Geneseo Fire Department, Geneseo Ambulance, Geneseo Police, Livingston County ALS, and Mercy Flight on automatic stand by were dispatched to a reported Pedestrian Struck MVA on Genesee St (Rt. 63) near College Dr.  The morning of Wednesday November 5th, 2008.  Geneseo Police went on location with a person struck by a tractor trailer with serious injuries.  Livingston County ALS requested a second ALS Unit to assist with possible RSI.  Geneseo Ambulance with 2 Livingston County ALS Medics transported one patient to an area hospital.  Assisting in the investigation is the Livingston County Sheriff's Office, SUNY Geneseo Police, and the New York State Police.

The Geneseo Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to the Wendy's 4158 Lakeville Road the morning of Friday July 25th, 2008.  Geneseo PD went on location with smoke showing.  Geneseo Fire Department investigated and located oven mitts smoldering above a grill that had been left on.  Story and photos by Curt Grant.

A tractor-trailer carrying scrap cars overturned on Interstate 390 north in Geneseo around 6:30 p.m., July 21. The truck went off the east shoulder of the highway, causing the tractor-trailer to overturn.  The scrap vehicles that were loaded on the flatbed trailer were then thrown and scattered across the embankment on the east side of the highway. Geneseo Fire and EMS as well as the Livingston County Sheriff's Office and New York State Police responded to the scene.  The driver was extricated from the truck by fire personnel and taken by EMS to Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville to be treated for minor injuries.  Story and Photos provided by Jeffrey Arnold.

The Geneseo Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to a reported tractor trailer on fire on Rt. 63 near I-390 the morning of Monday July 7th, 2008.  While enroute Livingston 911 updated Car 3101 that there were several calls reporting the truck was carrying cars and they were also involved in the fire.  Car 3101 went on location with a working fire involving several vehicles.  Car 3101 requested 1 pumper from Mt. Morris to assist.  Investigating the cause of the fire is the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management and the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.

The Geneseo Fire Department and Ambulance along with Livingston County ALS were dispatched to a reported car vs tractor trailer MVA on I-390 South, just North of Exit 8.  Geneseo Fire Department went on location with a 2 vehicle MVA.  One victim was transported to an area hospital. Investigating the cause of the accident is the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.

The Geneseo Fire Department and Ambulance along with Livingston County ALS were dispatched to a reported MVA with a vehicle overturned and a subject trapped.  Mercy Flight was put on automatic stand by.  Car 31 went on location with 1 vehicle over turned with a subject trapped that had also struck 2 parked cars.  Car 31 requested Mercy Flight launched and Lakeville Fire Department to set up a Landing Zone.  The LZ was set up at the Pebble Beach Airport.  Geneseo Fire Department extricated 1 victim who was transported by Geneseo Ambulance and Livingston County ALS and turned over to Mercy Flight.  Investigating the accident is the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.

The Geneseo Fire Department and Ambulance along with Livingston County ALS were dispatched to a 1 Car MVA, vehicle into the tree on Avon Geneseo Road the morning of Tuesday, May 21st, 2008 at approximately 8:30am.  Car 31 went on location with a car into the tree in the driveway, reported 2 injuries, and entrapment.  Geneseo Fire Department extricated the patients in approximately 15 minutes.  Two patients were transported to area hospitals.  Mt Morris Ambulance stood by in Geneseo, while both of Geneseo's ambulances were on the call.  Investigating the accident is the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.  Assisting at the scene was the New York State Police.

The Geneseo Fire Department and Ambulance along with Livingston County EMS ALS Medic 79 were dispatched a reported car vs tractor trailer MVA on Lakeville Road at I-390 on Sunday evening February 24th, 2008.  The operator of the car was pronounced dead at the scene and the operator of the tractor trailer was transported to an area hospital.  Investigating the cause of the accident is the Livingston County Sheriff's Office and the Livingston County Corners Office.  Assisting at the scene was the New York State Police.

The Geneseo Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to a reported house fire at 16 Center Street the afternoon of Saturday January 19th, 2007.  Car 31 went on location with fire showing.  Car 31 requested Livonia Fire Department for a FAST/RIT Team, York Fire Department for Man Power, and Mt. Morris for the Cascade and Man Power to the scene.  Lakeville filled in for Geneseo.  Hemlock and Honeoye filled in for Livonia.  Assisting at the scene was the Geneseo Police Department.  Investigating the cause of the fire is the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management.

The Geneseo Fire Department and Ambulance along with Livingston County ALS were dispatched to the scene, while Mercy Flight was placed on stand by, for the reported head on MVA, car vs tractor trailer on Rt. 39 in the area of Nations Road.  Geneseo 3102 went on location and requested Mercy Flight to the scene.  One victim was extricated and transported to the Geneseo Central School where the Landing Zone was set up.  The patient was transferred to Mercy Flight and was flown to an area hospital.  Investigating the accident is the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.  Assisting at the scene was The New York State Police and the Geneseo Village Police Department.  Livonia Ambulance covered calls in Geneseo while their ambulances were tied up with the MVA.

On Wednesday August 29th the Geneseo Fire Department was dispatched to Key Bank at 66 Main Street for smoke in the Building.  Story and Photos by Jay Lynch.

The Geneseo Fire Department and Geneseo Ambulance were dispatched to an Electrical fire at the Tractor Supply Store on Lakeville Road the afternoon of Saturday June 16th, 2007.  Luckily the fire was contained to the panel box but created a lot of black smoke.  As a result the store was closed for the remainder of the day.  Story and photos provided by Curt and Christa Grant.

The morning of Tuesday March 6th, 2007 at approximately 7:30am, the Geneseo Fire Department and Ambulance along with Livingston County ALS were dispatched to a reported MVA on Mt. Morris Road (Rt. 63) near Jones Bridge Road.  Car 31 Went on location with a MVA and dangerous road conditions.  Geneseo Ambulance transported to area hospitals.  Investigating the accident is the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.  Assisting at the scene was the New York State Police.

The Geneseo Fire Dept. & Ambulance were dispatched to a reported MVA on Mt. Morris Rd. (Rt. 63) in the area of the Salt Mine, the afternoon of Monday, March 5th, 2007.  The occupants of the vehicle were checked by the Geneseo Ambulance and refused transport.  Assisting at the scene was the NY State Police.

On Saturday, February 3, at 11:30 a.m., Geneseo Fire and EMS responded to a 2 car MVA with a person trapped on Lakeville-Groveland Road. Firefighters freed the trapped victim using the "Jaws of Life", Mercy Flight Central was requested, but do a equipment malfunction at the scene, all patients were transported by Geneseo EMS to area hospitals with Livingston County ALS. MVA - Geneseo - Tuesday - January 9th, 2007

The Geneseo Fire Department and Ambulance along with Livingston County ALS were dispatched to a reported car vs. tree MVA on Lima Road in the Village of Geneseo the early morning of Tuesday, January 9th, 2006.  Mercy Flight was put on stand by, but was unable to fly do to weather conditions. Car 31 went on location with a car into the tree with a subject trapped. Geneseo Ambulance with ALS transported one patient to an area hospital.  Investigating the cause of the accident is the Geneseo Village Police.  Assisting at the scene was the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.

MVA - Geneseo - Saturday - January 6th, 2007

On Saturday, Jan 6, at 3:29 p.m., Geneseo Fire and EMS responded to a rollover MVA in the northbound lane of I-390, north of Exit 8. Car 31 arrived on location with a car on it's top in the median. The driver was still in the vehicle, but not trapped. He was transported by Geneseo EMS to Strong. MVA ~ Geneseo ~ Thursday ~ December 28th, 2006

The Geneseo Fire Department and Ambulance along with Livingston County ALS and Mercy Flight on stand by were dispatched to a reported two car MVA on Interstate 390 North near Lima Road the evening of Thursday December 28th, 2006.  Car 31 went on location with a 2 car MVA and requested Mercy Flight launched and East Avon Fire Department to set up a landing zone at Exit 9.  Geneseo Ambulance transported one patient to an area hospital.  Mercy Flight landed, however do the nature of the injuries, were unable to fly the patient.  Unfortunately despite the efforts of all involved, one fatality occurred as a result of the accident.  Investigating the cause of the accident is the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.  Assisting at the scene was the New York State Police and the Livingston County District Attorneys Office.  Car Fire ~ Geneseo ~ Friday ~ December 22nd, 2006

The Geneseo Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to a reported car fire on the SUNY Campus at the B Lot on Park Ave. on Friday December 22nd.  Car 3101 went on location with vehicle fire.  The cause of the fire was determined to be a faulty heater motor and damage to the vehicle was extensive.  Investigating the cause of the fire was the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management.  Assisting at the scene was the SUNY Geneseo University Police.  Story  and Photos provided by Tom Pearson.

Training Burn - Geneseo - Saturday - November 11th, 2006

The Geneseo Fire Department held a training exercise on Saturday morning, November 11th, 2006 on E. South Street at the Yutzy residence. The residence was burned to make way for a new church.  Assisting Geneseo at the scene was the Geneseo Ambulance and the Livonia Fire Department.  Standing by for Geneseo was the Lakeville Fire Department. 

MVA ~ Geneseo ~ Tuesday ~ October 24th, 2006

On Tuesday, October 24, Geneseo Fire/EMS and Medic 79 responded to an MVA on West Lake Road at Eagle Point. Car 31 reported a car over the guardrail into some pine trees with a person trapped. On Sunday September 24th the Livonia and Geneseo Fire Departments held a department training session at an old building at Camp Stella Maris in the Town of Livonia.  The building was used for Truck Company Operations.  Roof Ventilation and Forcible Entry evaluations were conducted.  Firefighters were also able to practice survival skills. MVA - Geneseo - Friday - September 1st, 2006

The Geneseo Fire Department and Ambulance along with Livingston County ALS were dispatched to a reported MVA on Lakeville Road in front of the McDonald's Restaurant the afternoon of Friday September 1st, 2006.  Responding equipment reported a two MVA blocking traffic.  Both of Geneseo's Ambulances and a ambulance from Livonia transported patients to an area hospitals.  Investigating the cause of the accident is the Geneseo Village Police Department.

  Apartment Fire - Geneseo - Thursday - August 31st, 2006

The Geneseo Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to a reported apartment fire on Jacqueline Way the morning of Thursday August 31st, 2006 at approximately 11am.  Responding firefighters quickly extinguished a minor fire in the kitchen.  Assisting at the scene was the Geneseo Police Department, Livingston County ALS, and Livingston County Office of Emergency Management.  

Tire Fire - Geneseo - Sunday - April 30th, 2006

On Sunday April 30th. Geneseo Fire Department was dispatched to an unknown type fire south of the Village. A tire fire was located at 4132 Jones Bridge Rd. Groveland assisted at the scene.  Photos and story provided by Jay M Lynch.  

Structure Fire - SUNY Geneseo - Tuesday - January 31st, 2006

The Geneseo Fire Department and Ambulance were requested to Sturgess Hall on the SUNY Campus for a reported fire on the morning of Tuesday January 31st, 2006.  Car 3102 reported a fire in the wall.  Crews quickly extinguished the fire.  Assisting at the scene was the University Police Department.

Barn Fire - Geneseo - Wednesday January 18th, 2006

The Geneseo Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to a reported barn fire on the evening of Wednesday January 18th, 2006 at approximately 22:50 hours.  Assisting Geneseo at the scene were the following fire departments: Mt. Morris, Cuylerville, York, and Retsof.  Assisting at the scene was the Livingston County Sheriff's Office and the New York State Police.  Investigating the cause of the fire is the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management.  Lakeville and Livonia Fire Departments stood by for Geneseo.

Structure Fire - Geneseo- Monday November 21st, 2005

On Monday November 21, 2005 at 221p the Geneseo Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at 62 Second Street in the Village of Geneseo.  Upon arrival, Assistant Chief D’Aprile found flames coming from a side window.  The initial fire attack quickly knocked down and extinguished the fire.  The majority of the fire damage was contained to the room of origin which was a room adjacent to the kitchen.  There was smoke damage throughout the first floor of the residence.  The tenant in the upstairs apartment was home at the time of the fire and suffered smoke inhalation.  She was treated and transported to Strong Memorial Hospital by Geneseo Fire Department Ambulance and Livingston County ALS.  The three pet cats in the residence all survived.  The cause of the fire was investigated by Livingston County Fire Investigator Tom Pearson and determined to be a candle that was left burning by the homeowner.  East Avon Fire Department filled in at GFD headquarters.  Please contact Chief Frank Manzo with any questions at 585-737-1646.

The Geneseo Fire Department received a direct call to their fire station reporting a fire, now out, at 14 Court Street on Saturday November 12th, 2005.  Assisting at the scene was the Geneseo Police Department.

Motor Vehicle Accident - Geneseo Tuesday November 8th, 2005

The Geneseo Fire Department, Geneseo Ambulance, and Livingston County ALS were dispatched to a reported car into a tractor trailer on I-390 between Groveland Road and Crossett Road on Tuesday November 8th, 2005 at approximately 9pm.  Investigating the cause of the accident is the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.

Smoke Investigation - Geneseo   Sunday - November 6th, 2005

The Geneseo Fire Department and Geneseo Ambulance were dispatched to a report of smoke in the structure at Genesee Hall on the SUNY Campus at approximately 4:45pm on Sunday November 6th, 2005.  SUNY Police assisted at the scene.

The Geneseo Fire Department and Geneseo Ambulance were dispatched to a report of smoke in the structure at Erie Hall on the SUNY Geneseo Campus Sunday Morning November 6th, 2005 at approximately 1:30.  SUNY Police assisted at the scene.

Haz Mat - Geneseo - Tuesday September 20th, 2005

The Geneseo Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to a fuel oil spill at the New York State Armory 34 Avon Road the morning of Tuesday September 20th, 2005.   Car 31 reported a large fuel oil spill extending into the sewer systems.  The Livingston County Haz Mat Team was requested to assist.

Haz Mat - Geneseo - Friday    August 5th, 2005

The Livingston County Haz Mat Team was called out on Friday August 5, 2005, to assist the Geneseo Fire Department at the scene of a diesel fuel spill on the West Lake Road in the Town of Geneseo.  A tree service truck was attempting to exit the steep driveway and ruptured the fuel tank on the crown of the road and driveway.  Approximately 80 gallons of fuel leaked from the 100 gallon tank.  Even though a catch basin was located in the driveway, no fuel reached the basin or the lake.  The Haz Mat Team transferred the spilled fuel from temporary containers to an over-pack drum and spread Speedy Dry on the oil and swept up the material.  Photos are courtesy of Dick Davin, Conesus Lake Watershed Inspector.  Article and Photos provided by Tom Pearson.

Structure Fire - Geneseo - Thursday - May 12th, 2005

The Geneseo Fire Department was dispatched to a reported Barn Fire at the Wadsworth Homestead on South Street on Thursday afternoon, May 12th, 2005.  Director of Emergency Management Services Kevin Niedermaier reported the fire upon his investigation of the report of a "controlled burn".  Coordinator Niedermaier found a working Barn Fire and Geneseo Fire Department was dispatched.  Car 31, Chief Frank Manzo requested mutual aid from Cuylerville, Retsof, and Lakeville to the scene.  East Avon filled while Geneseo was at the scene.  Assisting at the scene was the Geneseo Police Department.  Picture provided by Tom Pearson.

Shed Fire - Geneseo - Friday - May 6th, 2005

At approximately 11:15 AM on Friday May 6, the Geneseo Fire Department was dispatched to a shed fire at 5012 Long Point Rd. in the Town of Geneseo.  Responding units found a small, 14x14, shed with a roof fire next to a larger metal barn.  The fire was quickly extinguished with little damage.  A worker in the process of removing scarp metal from the recently purchased farm was using a chop saw to cut up steel.  Sparks from the operation found their way to the old shake shingle roof and ignited a small portion.  Fast action by the worker prevented more significant damage.  Response operations were under the direction of immediate past chief Andrew Chanler.  It should be noted that no less than 5 past chiefs were present at the scene.  Story and Photos provided by Tom Pearson.

Kevin Niedermaier, Director of Emergency Management Services, reports that fire broke out at approximately 12:30 PM on Monday March 21, 2005 in a vehicle owned by Michael Button of 4947 Groveland Rd. in Geneseo.  The truck was parked in the driveway behind the house when the owner heard an explosion and found his truck fully involved in fire.

Members of the Geneseo Fire Department under the direction of Chief Andrew Chanler responded quickly and extinguished the flames, confining the majority of the damage to the truck.  The truck, a 2002 International, was destroyed.  The contents of the box on the truck suffered fire, heat, smoke and water damage.  Vinyl siding on the nearby house owned by Roy Teitsworth of Groveland was melted.

Fire Investigator Tom Pearson from the Office of Emergency Management Services investigated the fire.  The cause of the fire is attributed to an electrical problem in the cab of the truck .

Livingston County Sheriff’s Deputy Curtiss was right around the corner from the scene and was among the first to respond.

MCI - Geneseo - January 29th, 2005

The Geneseo Fire Department, Geneseo Ambulance, and Livingston County ALS Medic 79 were dispatched to a reported Tour Bus vs Tractor Trailer MVA on I-390 South at the Groveland Road on Saturday afternoon January 29th 2005 at approximately 16:40hrs.  Car 31 went on location with a Tour Bus rear ended a Tractor Trailer with multiple injured.  A MCI was declared and several ambulances were brought to the scene.  All ambulances in Livingston County were either at the scene, in staging, or back filling for other ambulance.  The East Avon Fire Department was requested for 2 pumpers with their extrication tools.  The Lakeville Fire Department was requested for the use of their light truck.  Four Air Ambulance helicopters responded to the scene, a fifth was on stand bye.  Three of the helicopters transported patients.  All patients were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital with implemented its Disaster Response Team.  Despite the quick response by all responders, there were four fatalities on scene.  Assisting at the scene was the Livingston County Emergency Management Office, the Livingston County Haz Mat Team, the New York State DOT.  Investigating the accident is the New York State Police with the assistance of the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.  Photo's provided by Jeffrey Arnold.

MVA - Geneseo - Sun. Jan. 9th, 2005

The Geneseo Fire Department, Geneseo Ambulance, and Livingston County ALS were dispatched to a reported MVA with a person trapped on the West Lake Road; Sunday morning, January 10th, 2005 at approximately 7:40am.  Responding personnel found a vehicle into a tree, with a person trapped, who had been there several hours.  The extrication process was extensive and took a long time to accomplish.  Mercy Flight was requested to the scene do to the nature of the injuries, extrication time, and the amount of time the subject had been in the vehicle.  Investigating the accident is the New York State Police.  Assisting at the scene was the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.  Retsof Fire Department and Ambulance filled in for Geneseo while they were on this call.

Apartment Fire - Geneseo  November 4th, 2004

Geneseo Firefighters were dispatched to a reported apartment fire at 32 Main Street on Nov. 4, 2004 at approximately 2000 hrs.    First arriving fire officers found a kitchen fire in a basement apartment.   The fire was quickly controlled with extinguishers.   The cause of the fire was determined to be an unattended stove burner.    The apartment suffered extensive smoke damage.   The law office on the main floor of the building did not sustain any damage.  Story provided by Chief Andrew Chanler.

The Geneseo Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to a reported Roll Over MVA on Saturday Morning, July 3rd at approximately 1:00am on Avon Geneseo Road near Nations Road.  East Avon Fire Department and Avon Ambulance also responded as the original call location was Avon Geneseo Road near Hogmire Road.  Cars 3101 & 2701 went on location with a SUV rolled over in the ditch with all occupants out of the vehicle.  Geneseo Ambulance and Avon Ambulance both transported patients to area hospitals.  Investigating the cause of the Accident is the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.  As units were clearing this scene, Geneseo Fire and EMS were requested back to 56 Second Street.  Car 3101 requested East Avon to respond and assist again.

House Fire - Geneseo - Friday - July 2nd, 2004

The Geneseo Fire Department and Geneseo Ambulance were dispatched to a reported porch fire at 56 Second Street, Friday evening July 2nd, 2004.  Car 3102 went on location with a fully involved porch/working structure fire.  Car 3101 arrived shortly and upgraded it for a fully involved structure fire.  Assisting Geneseo at the seen was: East Avon, Retsof, Avon, Livonia, and Mt. Morris Fire Departments.  Investigating the cause of the fire is the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management.  Assisting at the scene was: the Geneseo Village Police Department, the Livingston County Sheriff's Office, and the American Red Cross.  Filling in for Geneseo was Mt. Morris Fire Department; for Avon was the Caledonia Fire Department; for East Avon was the Rush Fire Department; and for Retsof was the York Fire Department.  Photos provided by Curt and Christa Grant.

MVA - Geneseo - Friday - July 2nd, 2004

The Geneseo Fire Department, Geneseo Ambulance, and Avon ALS Medic 70 were dispatched to a reported roll over MVA with a vehicle colliding with a tractor on Lima Road in the area of the 390 overpass on Friday afternoon, July 2nd, 2004.  Geneseo Ambulance transported 2 victims to area hospitals.  Investigating the cause of the accident is the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.

 MVA - Geneseo - Wednesday - June 30th, 2004

The Geneseo Fire Department, Geneseo Ambulance, and Medic 79 were dispatched to a reported multi vehicle MVA on Genesee Street (Rt. 63) at the entrance to the SUNY Geneseo Campus on Wednesday afternoon June 30th, 2004.  Responding units found a tractor trailer had rear ended the last vehicle in line waiting for a traffic light to change, there were a total of 5 vehicles involved in the accident.  Geneseo Command requested Mercy Flight to the scene.  This accident turned into a double fatal and Geneseo Ambulance transported 2 additional patients to area hospitals.  Investigating the cause of the accident is the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.  Assisting at the scene was the New York State Police, the Geneseo Police Department, the Retsof Fire Department, and SUNY Geneseo Police Department.  The East Avon Fire Department filled in for Geneseo while they were at the scene. 

Boat Drill - Geneseo - Long Point Park - June 6th, 2004

On June 6th, 2004 members of the Geneseo Fire Department and Ambulance practices their Lake Rescue skills using Boat 310.  Photos provided by Curt Grant.

Apartment Complex Fire - Geneseo - Saturday April 17th, 2004

The Geneseo Fire and EMS were dispatched to a "Smoke Detector Going Off" in an apartment at 12 Hillside Drive, Apartment 5 (the Meadows Apartment Complex), on Saturday April 1tth, 2004 at 3:55pm.  Upon arrival of the Fire Chief and Geneseo Police Officer Christopher Haley, light smoke was in the area.  Nearby apartment tenants heard smoke detectors going off of an unoccupied apartment.  Officer Haley found fire beginning to come thru a downstairs window in the rear of the apartment.  A "working fire" was declared by the Fire Chief.  A crew from East Avon Fire Department Station #2 was requested to the scene and a crew from Retsof Fire Department to stand by in the Geneseo Fire Station.  The fire was quickly knocked down by initial attack crews.  Two cats were found by firefighters and quickly removed.  Both pets were unharmed.  The fire was caused by a tenant that had left a pot on the stove.  Smoke and fire damage was limited to the apartment of origin.  There were no injuries.   Story provided by Andrew Chanler.  Photos provided by Christopher Haley.

Car Fire - Geneseo - March 23rd, 2004
