From the Family of Past Chief Kevin Quinlan The family of Past Chief Kevin P Quinlan would like to send their heartfelt appreciation to the fire departments of Livingston and surrounding counties' for the dignified send off given to Kevin at the time of his passing. Avon, Springwater, East Avon, Geneseo, Wayland, Sparta, Mumford, Lakeville, Caledonia, Rush, Livonia, Conesus, and Livingston County Emergency Management Services as well as the Fire Chief's Association of NYS we thank you for honoring Kevin with a firefighter memorial service. To AFD Chief Jeremy Batzel and 1st Asst Chief John Kellen, the time and effort you put into coordinating this tribute was evident as we watched a difficult time unfold into one of the most respectful and dignified displays we have ever seen. Kevin was a member of the Avon Fire Department for 51 years and enjoyed every moment of his dedication to this community service. He was very proud to work with all of you. We came around the circle to take one last drive by the Avon firehall before that drive to the cemetery. Last call, and then seeing that enormous flag draped from Avon to East Avon's trucks brought many tears. And special thanks to Chief Batzel for arranging the bagpipes. Kev did love his beautiful Irish music played on the bagpipes, what a thoughtful gesture. Your attention to detail and to our family is a memory we will cherish always. May God bless all of you and keep you safe. The family of Kevin P Quinlan |
