On Friday June 5th., Leicester, Cuylerville and Mount Morris Fire Departments were dispatched to a report of a grass fire on River Rd near the railroad overpass. First arriving fire units encountered a fire in a swampy area  approximately  500' off the road with the only access to the fire is by foot.  Story and Photos by Jay Lynch.

On Saturday May 16th.,  Cuylerville & Leicester Fire Departments were dispatched for a reported basement fire at 1942 Perry Rd in the Town of Leicester. Leicester Car 13 went on location and reported smoke showing. An aggressive attack was able to keep the damage in the basement to a minimum.  Story and Photos by Jay Lynch.

On Sunday June 29th., Cuylerville Fire Department conducted a controlled burn at 2819 Cuylerville Rd in the Town of Leicester. A large barn was the object of the live burn. Department assisting Cuylerville were Leicester, Mount Morris, Mount Morris Ambulance and York.  Story and Photos provided by Jay Lynch.

On Friday May 23rd. Leicester and Cuylerville Fire Departments were dispatched to a report of an oil tank fire on Upper Mount  Morris Rd in the Town of Leicester. Arriving fire units encountered a dismantling operation with oil residue burning on a section of the old storage tank.  Photos and Story by Jay Lynch.  

On Saturday April 19, Leicester and Cuylerville Fire Departments were dispatched to a reported brush fire at 5692 Upper Mount Morris Rd in The Town of Leicester.  Story and Photos provided by Jay Lynch.

On Wednesday January 23rd, The Leicester and Cuylerville Fire Departments were dispatched to a report of a Structure Fire at 4920 York Rd in the Town of Leicester. First arriving Fire Units encountered a 2 story private dwelling with heavy fire showing from the addition off the back of the home. Departments assisting Leicester and Cuylerville at the scene were York, Caledonia, Mount Morris, Geneseo, Perry, Perry Center.  Story by Jay Lynch. 

On Sunday September 16th. The Cuylerville Fire Department conducted a live fire exercise in an old house  at 5030  River Rd in the Town of Leicester. Departments assisting Cuylerville were Leicester, Mount Morris and York.  Story and Photos provided by Jay Lynch.

On Wednesday September 12th,  The Leicester and Cuylerville fire Departments were dispatched to a report of a truck fire at the corner of River and Perry Rd in the Town of Leicester. Leicester Mini Pumper 133 was the first arriving fire unit on location and encountered a fully involved Ford Ranger. The pick up has been having electrical problems prior to the fire and had some ammunition in the cab that was going off as firefighters were arriving on the scene. Assisting Leicester and Cuylerville were Mount Morris Fire, Mount Morris Ambulance, York Fire on standby for Leicester , Livingston County Sheriff Department and Livingston County Emergency Management.  If you look at picture labeled number four, A shell went of as I was taking this picture.  Story and Photos provided by Jay Lynch.

Geneseo, York and Cuylerville FDs, Geneseo and York EMS, and Livingston County ALS responded for a reported plane crash on July 13, 2007 just before 7pm.  A replica World War 1 German Biplane was unable to gain enough speed and altitude, struck a treeline, and crash landed on the west side of the river in a farmers field.  The plane was participating in the Geneseo Airshow.  The pilot walked away from the crash with no injuries, but the plane was severely damaged.  The story was  on 10NBC .  Assisting in the investigation were the Livingston County Sheriffs Office, NYS Police, NYS Park Police, and the FAA.  Pictures by Dawn and Randy Worden.

The Cuylerville Fire Department and Ambulance along with the Leicester Fire Department and Livingston County ALS were dispatched to a reported car vs bus MVA on Mt. Morris Road (Rt. 36) near Brian's USA Diner the afternoon of Monday May 7th, 2007.  Car 16 went on location with a car vs LATS Bus MVA, both vehicles over an embankment, and a subject trapped.  Assisting Cuylerville were both of Mt. Morris' Ambulances, Mt. Morris ALS Medic 75, and one of York's Ambulances.  Investigating the the accident is the New York State Police.  Assisting the New York State Police was the Livingston County Sheriff's Office and the New York State Park Police.

Car Fire - Cuylerville - Thursday - November 9th, 2006

The Cuylerville and Leicester Fire Departments and Cuylerville Ambulance were dispatched to a reported vehicle fire on Rt. 36 near Jones Bridge Road the evening of Thursday, November 9th, 2006.  Leicester Car 13 went on location with a fully involved vehicle fire.  The vehicle caught fire after it had collided with a deer. Assisting at the scene was the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.

MVA - Cuylerville - Tuesday - September 26th, 2006

The Cuylerville Fire Department, Cuylerville Ambulance, and Leicester Fire Department were dispatched to a reported car vs. tractor trailer MVA Thursday evening September 28th, 2006 at approximately 9pm at the intersection of Mt. Morris Road and Jones Bridge Road.  Responding units found a car had failed to stop at a stop sign was hit by a tractor trailer.  One patient was transported to an area hospital by Cuylerville Ambulance.  Investigating the cause of is the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.

MVA - Cuylerville - Tuesday - September 26th, 2006

The Cuylerville Fire Department, Cuylerville Ambulance, and Leicester Fire Department were dispatched to a reported car vs. tractor trailer MVA Tuesday afternoon September 26th, 2006 at approximately 5pm at the intersection of US Highway 20A and Barrett Road.  Responding units found a car had rear ended a tractor trailer.  One patient was transported to an area hospital by Cuylerville Ambulance.  Investigating the cause of is the Livingston County Sheriff's Office and the New York State Police.

Busy Day in Cuylerville - Leicester

Fire District December 30, 2005

At approximately 11:00 AM, Friday December 30, 2005 Cuylerville and Leicester Fire Departments were dispatched to 5835 Gibsonville Rd Leicester for a reported silo fire with possible extension into a barn.  While enroute, Car 13 requested additional tankers from York, Retsof, Perry and Perry Center due to the complex of barns at the farm.  Car 13 went on location reporting a fire in a Harvestor silo with some extension into a barn.  Geneseo Ladder 318 and Pumper 315 were requested to the scene for aerial support.  Geneseo and Retsof Ambulances responded to the scene for rehab and Caledonia and Pavilion provided fill in companies.  After several hours, the fire was knocked down to the point the silo could be capped off to smother the remaining fire.  Investigating at the scene were the Livingston County Sheriffs Office and the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management - C3 Gehrig, C4 Pearson, and C8 McGory.

Later in the evening, at approximately 6:00 PM, Cuylerville Fire and EMS,  Leicester Fire and Medic 79 were dispatched to a reported 2 car MVA roll over with injuries at the intersection of Rte 36 and Perry Rd.  Car 13 went on scene with a minivan on its side and 1 person trapped with 2 more injuries in the second vehicle.  Two additional ambulances were requested from Mount Morris.  After a short extrication by Cuylerville, 1 patient was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital by Mount Morris 836, and 2 patients to Wyoming County Community Hospital by Cuylerville 810 and Mount Morris 835.  Retsof Fire filled in at Leicester during the event as well as providing traffic control.  Investigating at the scene were the New York State Police.

Structure Fire - Leicester - Saturday November 12th, 2005

The Cuylerville Fire Department and Ambulance along with the Leicester Fire Department were dispatched to a reported stove fire in the trailer at the Kingston Road Trailer Park on Saturday November 12th, 2005 at approximately 6:30pm.

Haz Mat - Cuylerville ~ Leicester  Saturday January 15th, 2005

The Cuylerville Fire Department and Ambulance along with the Leicester Fire Department were dispatched to a reported Chlorine leak at the Harvey Pool in the Letchworth State Park area on Saturday afternoon, January 15th, 2005.  Responding units found a leak of several gallons of Liquid Chlorine in the Chlorine Building at the Harvey Pool.  The Livingston County Haz Mat Team was requested to the scene.  Assisting at the Scene was the New York State Park Police and the Letchworth State Park Maintenance Department.  Pictures provided by Jeffrey Arnold.

House Fire - Cuylerville ~ Leicester  Thursday - January 6th, 2005

The Cuylerville Fire Department and Ambulance and the Leicester Fire Department were dispatched to a reported smell of smoke in the residence at 4984 Chestnut Street in the Hamlet of Cuylerville on Thursday evening, January 6, 2005 at approximately 21:30hrs.  Responding units found a room charged with smoke.  Upon investigation it was determined a light fixture had shorted out causing a minor fire in the structure.  Assisting at the scene was the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.

MVA - Cuylerville ~ Leicester  Sunday - December 19th, 2004

The Cuylerville Fire Department & Ambulance, along with Leicester Fire Department and Mt. Morris ALS Medic 75 were dispatched to a reported roll over MVA on Sunday Morning, December 19th, 2004 at approximately 1:30am.  Responding units found a SUV rolled over with 3 victims.  Geneseo Ambulance and ALS from Livonia was requested to the scene.  Cuylerville Ambulance and Medic 75 transported one victim to the hospital while Geneseo Ambulance and Livonia Medic 7401 transported a second victim.  The third victim who claimed not to be injured at the scene, while going to the hospital, complained of injuries.  Avon Ambulance and ALS transported the third victim to an area hospital.  Investigating the cause of the MVA is the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.

Structure Fire - Cuylerville  November 12th, 2004

At approx 12:30 PM 11/12/04 the Cuylerville and Leicester Fire Depts and Cuylerville EMS were dispatched to a reported basement fire at 4985 School St in Cuylerville. Cuylerville Pumper 164 went on location with smoke showing from a 1 1/2 story wood frame. A quick attack was mounted by the Cuylerville crew and the fire was knocked down within minutes. Fire damage was limited to the basement area where the fire originated, although the entire house was charged with smoke. One of the homeowners was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital by Cuylerville EMS and Genesee Valley ALS for smoke inhalation. Assisting at the scene were Mt Morris and Retsof FDs for use of their thermal imaging cameras and manpower, the Livingston County Sheriffs Office, and the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management. The cause of the fire appears to be a spark from a contractor working in the basement igniting burlap that was covering the insulation in the floor joists.  Story provided by Randy Worden.

Trailer Fire -  Leicester ~ Cuylerville - Monday - May 17th, 2004

The Leicester and Cuylerville Fire Departments and Cuylerville Ambulance were dispatched to a reported House Trailer on fire at the Mint Trailer Park, 5502 Route 36, the morning of May 17th, 2004.  First units on scene reported a working house trailer fire.  Assisting Leicester and Cuylerville at the scene was the Mt. Morris, York, Retsof, Perry, and Perry Center Fire Departments and the Mt. Morris and Perry Ambulances.  The Cuylerville Ambulance transported one victim to an area hospital.  Investigating the cause of the fire is the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management.  Also assisting at the scene was the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.  Photos provided by Tom Pearson.
