Controlled Burn - Caledonia - Saturday - May 2nd, 2009 On Saturday May 2nd. the Caledonia Fire Department conducted live fire training at the Centerpoint Transfer Station on River Rd in the Town of Caledonia. Two old trailers were used for the drill. Departments participating in the drill were York, Scottsville, Mumford, Avon, Caledonia Ambulance and Le Roy on standby for Caledonia. Ladder Ops Drill- Caledonia & Leroy - Thursday - April
23rd, 2009 On Thursday April 23rd the Le Roy and Caledonia Fire Departments got together for training. The object of the evening was for Caledonia fighters to get familiar with the operating of Le Roy's Quint. Brush Fire - Caledonia/Mumford/Leroy - Friday - April
19th, 2009 On Friday April 19th. the Leroy Fire Department was dispatched for a standby in Caledonia. Caledonia was working a grass fire on the eastern part of the Town. While en rout a large column of smoke could be seen in the area of Flint Hill Rd and Gulf Rd. After investigating, A large woods and field fire was discovered covering approximately 25 acres, sending fire equipment from Genesee, Livingston and Monroe County's to the scene. MVA - Caledonia - Friday - December 12th,
2008 The Caledonia Fire Department, Caledonia Ambulance, and ALS along with a Mutual Aid Pumper from Avon were dispatched to a reported MVA with injuries, pick up vs pole, on Rt. 5 near Cold Springs Road the morning of Friday December 12th, 2008. Car 1102 went on location with pick up that had severed a pole and wires down. Command requested Rt. 5 closed from Quarry Rd to Cold Springs Road. Winch; 2 DeWalt Sawalls; 2 Stokes Baskets; 2 High Lift Jacks; Jaws of Life Extrication Struts; Husqvarna Chainsaw; RIT Equipment; Water Rescue Equipment; and Salvage Tarps. MVA - Caledonia - Monday - March 5th, 2007 The Caledonia and Mumford Fire Departments along with Caledonia Ambulance were dispatched to a MVA involving a snowplow and a car morning of Monday March 5th, 2007 on Avon Caledonia Road (Rt.5) near Cold Springs Road. Command reported a snow plow vs car mva with 2 serious patients, one a code 500. Both patients were transported to area hospitals. Assisting were ALS from Caledonia and Avon. Investigating the accident is the Livingston County Sheriff's Office. |

Command reported a ARC Bus on its side with 4 patients. All patients were transported to area hospitals. Assisting at the scene was ALS from Caledonia and Avon. MVA - Caledonia - Wednesday - November 8th, 2006 The Caledonia Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to a 3 car MVA on Rt.5 near the 5 & 20 Split on Wednesday Morning, November 8th. Car 1102 went on location on the Rt 5 bridge over the Genesee River, just a few feet into Caledonia from Avon. Two patients were transported to an area hospital. Assisting at the scene was the Avon Fire Department Fire Police, the Avon Village Police Department and the Caledonia Village Police Department. Structure Fire - Caledonia - Saturday - September 2nd, 2006 On Saturday September 2nd, 2006 the Caledonia Fire Department and Genesee Valley Ambulance were dispatched to a reported house fire on East Ave. in the Village. Command reported a working fire and requested Avon and Scottsville to the scene and LeRoy to stand by in Caledonia. Assisting at the scene was the Caledonia Village Police. Burn Drill - Caledonia - Feeley Road - August 12th, 2006 Caledonia Fire Department hosted a burn drill on Saturday morning August 12th, 2006. The burn was a barn on Feeley Road. Caledonia laid 2300 feet of 5 inch hose which was supplied by a tanker shuttle. Assisting Caledonia was East Avon, Avon, York, Retsof, Mumford, Churchville, Scottsville, and Clifton. Structure Fire - Caledonia - Sunday May 29th 7th, 2005 Caledonia - May 14, 2005. Caledonia firefighters, under the direction of Chief Bob Beisang, with the assistance of crews from Mumford and LeRoy, responded to an apartment fire shortly before 7:00 AM on Route 5 at the Genesee County Line. Quick work by crews contained the fire to the room of origin with some smoke and water damage in other apartments. Fire Investigators Niedermaier, Gehrig and Pearson from the Office of Emergency Management Services determined the cause to be careless use of smoking materials. Structure Fire - Caledonia - Monday - April 11th, 2005 At approximately 3:17 PM, the Caledonia Fire Department was toned out to a house fire at 4329 Rt 5 in the Town of Caledonia. First arriving crews led by Capt John Pike, found a bedroom window on the second floor burning. The fire was quickly extinguished. The cause of the fire was determined to be careless use of smoking materials. The window sill is not a good [place to snuff out a butt. Structure Fire - Caledonia Tuesday February 1st, 2005 The Caledonia Fire Department, Caledonia Ambulance & ALS, along with automatic Mutual Aid from Mumford were dispatched to a reported structure fire next door to the Towne and Country Restaurant on Main St. Car 11 went on location with a large 2 story, masonry construction, commercial automotive repair facility, with smoke showing. Attack crews entered the building and determined an automobile was burning in the structure. |

Commercial Structure Fire - Caledonia - Friday - Jan. 7th, 2005 The Caledonia Fire Department, Caledonia Ambulance & ALS, along with automatic mutual assistance from Mumford Fire Department were dispatched to a reported fire in the structure at 1 Technology Place at Chloride Electrical Network on Friday Morning, January 7th, 2005. Responding units for an odor of smoke in the structure. Upon investigation it was determined there was a fire in a ventilation unit which had been extinguished prior to the fire departments arrival. Hay Baler Fire - Caledonia - Monday August 2nd, 2004 On Monday, August 2, 2004, the Caledonia FD was dispatched to a baler fire at 2918 McGovern Rd. in Caledonia. First in firefighters found a fully involved round baler. A quick response is credited with keeping damage to a minimum. House Fire - Caledonia - Friday July 30, 2004 At the same time East Avon and Avon were working their Grain Silo fire, the Caledonia Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to a reported possible house fire on South Road. Units went on location with a possible partition fire. Mumford Fire Dept. was requested to the scene. |
