MVA - East Avon - Monday December 28th, 2009 The East Avon Fire Department and Avon Ambulance with ALS, were dispatched to a reported tractor trailer off the road and into a pole on West Henrietta Road between North Avon Road and the county line on Monday December 28th, 2009. Car 27 went on location with a confirming a tractor trailer, loaded with cars, off the road into a pole, and National Grid was on location. Structure Fire - Avon - Wednesday December 23rd, 2009 The Avon Fire Department and Avon Ambulance were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 21 Valley Lane at approximately 23:53 hours. Avon PD and Car 22 went on location with heavy smoke from the eaves. Car 22 declared a working fire and requested a pumper from East Avon to the scene and a Pumper and a Rescue from Caledonia to fill in for Avon. Avon Ambulance went on location and requested a second ambulance to the scene. Lima Ambulance responded do to Avon's primary ambulance on another call. Car 22 requested Caledonia Fire Department to the scene and Geneseo to Fill Avon. East Avon requested Lima Fire Department for a fill in. Car 22 requested a third ambulance to the scene to assist with rehab, Geneseo Ambulance responded until Avon's primary ambulance returned from the hospital. Lima Ambulance transported one victim to an area hospital. Investigating the cause of the fire is the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management and the Avon Village Police Department. Ventilation Training - Bethany - Saturday December 19th, 2009 On Saturday December 19th., Bethany and Pavilion firefighters spent the afternoon conducting Ventilation and Ladder handling training. The old structure on Bethany Center Rd in the Town of Bethany has been used by several departments in the passed weeks and has given the firefighters the opportunity to train in a controlled and safe environment. Structure Fire - Honeoye- Sunday December 13th, 2009 On Sunday afternoon, December 13, at 2:43 p.m., Honeoye and Bristol fire departments were dispatched to a report of a chimney fire 4971 East Lake Road. Fire units arrived on location and found smoke showing from the two-story house. Honeoye Fire Chief Rick Frost requested additional interior firefighters to the scene from Hemlock and West Bloomfield. Minutes later, a second call was received for another chimney fire on Edgewood Trail. Bristol firefighters responding to the initial fire were re-routed to handle that assignment. That situation was brought swiftly under control. The East Lake Road fire was declared under control at 3:27 p.m., with damages limited to the area of the wood stove pipe. Livonia and Naples firefighters were called in to stand by at the Honeoye fire station. Lakeville FD filled in at Livonia. There were no reported injuries. Structure Fire - Groveland- Saturday December 12th, 2009 The early morning of Saturday December 12th, 2009 the Groveland Fire Department and Dansville Ambulance were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 5262 Bath Road. Car 3202 went on location with a working structure fire. Mutual aid was requested to the scene from Conesus Fire Department, Hemlock Fire Department, Sparta Fire Department, Springwater Fire Department, Dansville Fire Department, Cuylerville Fire Department, Mt. Morris Fire Department, Perkinsville Fire Department, and West Sparta Fire Department. Numerous Fire Departments provided stand by coverage for departments at the scene. MVA - Groveland- Friday December 11th, 2009 On Friday morning December 11th, 2009 the Groveland Fire Department, Geneseo Ambulance, and Livingston County ALS were dispatched to a vehicle off the Road on 390 North near Pioneer Road. Updates while enroute were at tractor trailer off the road with the driver road side needing medical attention. Car 3202 went on location and reported a tractor trailer off the road with one injured. Geneseo Ambulance with ALS transported one patient to an area hospital. Assisting Grovland Fire Department were the Sparta and West Sparta Fire Departments. Combine Fire - Mt. Morris- Sunday December 6th, 2009 The Mt. Morris Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to a reported combine fire on Dutch Street Road the morning or Sunday December 6th, 2009. NYSP 3E81 went on location with a working combine fire 10 feet off the road, not near any structures. Investigating the fire is the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management. |

Structure Fire - Dansville- Friday December 4th, 2009 The Dansville Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 35 Bank Street the evening of Friday December 4th, 2009 at approximately 8:35pm. Dansville PD arrived and advised Dispatch that their was a working fire in an apartment house and not everyone was accounted for. The first crews attacked the fire and initiated a search and located a male victim. Despite rescue efforts by the fire department and ambulance, the victim did not survive the fire. Investigating the cause of the fire is the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management. The Sparta Fire Department filled in for Dansville while they were at the scene. |

Structure Fire - Springwater- Sunday November 22nd, 2009 The Springwater Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to a reported structure fire on Lawrence Gull Road at approximately 5am on Sunday Morning, November 22nd, 2009. Car 54 went on location and declared a working fire. Mutual Aid was provided by Wayland Fire Department, Perkinsville Fire Department, Sparta Fire Department, and Conesus Fire Department. MVA - Geneseo - Friday - November 20th, 2009 While returning from Rochester, Dansville Ambulance came upon an MVA on I-390 near Rt. 63 in Geneseo. Geneseo Fire Department, Ambulance and Livingston County ALS were dispatched. Dansville updated that it was a 2 vehicle MVA, both vehicles over turned and down an embankment, with patients trapped. Geneseo Command requested a Ambulance from Mt. Morris to respond. Livingston County ALS responded with 2 additional ALS Fly Cars to the scene. Geneseo Fire Department used the Jaws of Life to free one patient. Patients were transported by Geneseo, Mt. Morris, and Dansville Ambulances to area hospitals. East Avon Fire Department & Livonia Ambulance stood by in Geneseo during the incident. Investigating the Accident is the New York State Police. Mine Rescue - York - Wednesday - November 18th, 2009 The York Fire Department and Ambulance along with Caledonia Ambulance and ALS, automatic mutual aid, were dispatched to a report of a subject fallen, possibly into the old mine shaft, at the American Rock Salt facility at the from Retsof Mine on Retsof Road. Sheriff Office personnel updated responding rescuers a subject had fallen off a tank containing rock salt and was buried to his waist in Rock Salt. York Command requested mutual aid from Leicester Fire Department to set up a Landing Zone for Mercy Flight at the scene, Avon Fire Department for their Quint to the scene, and Geneseo Fire Department for their Ladder Truck and Rope Rescue Team to the scene. Caledonia Fire Department provided a fill in for York Fire Department. Investigating the incident is the Livingston County Sheriff's Office. Assisting at the scene was the New York State Police. The members are currently training on the apparatus and hope to have it in service soon. MVA - Clarendon (Orleans Co.) - Wednesday - October 28th, 2009 Do to the MVA in Clarendon on Wednesday Evening October 28th, 2009 I will be away from the Fireline for about a week. I will continue to upgrade the site and update the new photo gallery as soon as I can. Thank you too all my friends, co-workers, fellow firefighters, and colleagues in Emergency Medical Service for their support during this difficult time for my family. Special thanks to all the Firefighters, Emergency Medical Personal, and the Orleans County Sheriff's Office for their efforts and assistance at the scene and since the accident. Sorry it took longer than I expected to be back to the Fireline. Again my family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers during this difficult tragic time in our lives. Structure Fire - Cuylerville- Tuesday October 27th, 2009 On Tuesday October 27th., Cuylerville and Leicester Fire Departments along with Cuylerville Ambulance were dispatched for structure fire at 1879 New Rd in the Town of Leicester. Leicester Car 1302 Jim Kane went on location and reported smoke showing and was able to gain access to the structure and knock down and control the fire in the kitchen area of the home until the first due engine arrived. MVA - Geneseo - Saturday - October 24th, 2009 The Geneseo Fire Department and Ambulance along with Livingston County ALS were dispatched to a reported 1 car MVA with entrapment on Lakeville Road East of County Club Road. Mercy Flight was placed on stand by. While enroute Car 31 was advised that the MVA was a vehicle vs tree MVA with 2 victims trapped in the car. Car 3102 Went on location confirming a car into the tree w/entrapment. Mercy Flight was cancelled and both Geneseo Ambulances with ALS from Livingston County transported the victims to an area hospital. Livonia Ambulance stood by during the incident and while Geneseo's Ambulance were at the Hospital. |

MVA - East Avon - Saturday - October 17th, 2009 On Saturday afternoon, October 17, the East Avon Fire Department and Avon EMS/ALS responded to a two-car accident with entrapment in front of the East Avon fire station on West Henrietta Road. Firefighters used hydraulic rescue tools to extricate the driver, who the the sole occupant, from one of the involved vehicles. She was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Mutual Aid was requested to the scene from Groveland Fire Department, West Sparta Fire Department, and Perkinsville Fire Department. Controlled Burn - York - Sunday October 11th, 2009 On Sunday, October 11th., The York Fire Department under the direction of Chief Alex Curry Jr. conducted a live fire training exercise at the old Roadhouse Grill on the corner of Routes 36 and 20 in the Town of York. A tanker shuttle was established and Port-a-tanks were set up. Avon set up there platform while hand lines were deployed around the fire building. This building had been used by the departments on several occasions for a wide range of training evolutions. Controlled Burn - York - Wednesday September 30th, 2009 On Wednesday September 30th., The York Fire Department conducted a live fire training exercise using an old home at 3739 East Rd in the Town of York. A draft site was set up at the monastery on on River road and a tanker shuttle was established. Two port-a-tanks were set up at York 174 and lines were deployed around the fire building. An emergency supply line was laid from a nearby hydrant in the event of something unforeseen. SCBA Training - York - Sunday September 27th, 2009 On Sunday September 27 York, Caledonia, Avon and Leicester Fire Department got together for SCAB training using the old Bar ( I think it was called the Roadhouse ) at the corner of Routes 36 and 20 in the Town of York. Structure Fire - Canadice - Thursday - September 10th, 2009 The Honeoye Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to a reported Structure Fire at the Country Colony Estates, 5440 Curtis Road the morning of Thursday September 10th, 2009. Honeoye Car 14-0 went on location with a working fire in one of the buildings in the apartment complex. Command requested mutual aid from several fire departments in Ontario County. Fire Department Wedding - Friday - September 4th, 2009 On Friday evening, September 4, Lima Fire Department Captain Pat McGrath and Ladies Auxiliary secretary Jen Gruschow were married at Vitale Park on Conesus Lake. The bride arrived aboard the department's antique fire engine. She was escorted to the ceremony by fire apparatus from Lakeville and Livonia, while ladder trucks from Geneseo and East Avon formed an arch at the entrance to the park. Water Supply Drill - Wyoming - Monday - August 24th, 2009 On Monday August 24th. Wyoming Fire Department conducted water supply operations at the First Baptist Church on Main Street in the Village of Wyoming. Pavilion 78 set up a draft at the dry hydrant on main street to supply tankers. Two port-a-tanks were set up at the corner of Main St. & Maple St. where Wyoming No.1 drafted to feed a LDH supply line to Wyoming No.5 positioned in front of the simulated fire building. Wyoming No.5 supplied a LDH supply line to Wyoming No.3 at the rear of the church and deployed two hand lines. Wyoming No.3 deployed two hand lines and operated a deck gun. MVA - Springwater - Monday- August 10th, 2009 Just after midnight, Monday August 10th, 2009 the Springwater Fire Department and Ambulance along with Livingston County ALS were dispatched to a vehicle into a tree on North Main Street, just South of the Ontario County line. Mercy Flight was placed on stand by but was unable to fly do to weather conditions. This occurred just after a strong band of thunder storms that had been in the area, toppled a tree into the roadway. Car 54 went on location with a cube truck into the tree with multiple injuries. Command requested two ambulances from Wayland and Livonia, 1 ambulance from Honeoye, and a total of 5 ALS units. Investigating the accident is the Livingston County Sheriff Office. Assisting at the scene was the New York State Police, New York State DOT, Springwater Highway Department, Wayland Fire Department, Hemlock Fire Department, Livonia ALS, and Rural Metro Corning. |

Mercy Flight was placed on stand by. Car 5101 went on location with a subject roadside with serious head injury and requested Mercy Flight launched. Dansville Ambulance transported one patient to the Landing Zone at Noyes Memorial Hospital to meet Mercy Flight. Mercy Flight transported the patient to a Trauma Center in Rochester. It was determined after searching that are that the driver was the only person in the vehicle. Investigating the accident is the Livingston County Sheriff's Office. Livonia Firefighter Passes Away - Monday - July 27th, 2009 It is with great sadness that the Livonia Fire Department announces the passing of Firefighter David Connor. For many years David and his family have been the Officials at area Demolition Derbies, including Hemlocks. David was Officiating the Demo at the Genesee County Fair on Saturday July 25ht, 2009, when a freak accident injured him. On Monday July 27th, 2009 David passed as a result of the injuries he received Saturday night. |

Two training sessions were being conducted throughout the evening. Session 1 was a Live Burn using the inside of the structure to familiarize firefighters with the heat and smoke conditions that will be encountered in actual firefighting. Session 2 was Aerial Ladder, Ventilation and Roof Work. Firefighters were able to set up the Aerial Ladders and access the roof to conduct ventilation operations and to familiarize themselves with using saws and other tools in an elevated positions. Explorer Weekend - Bergen - July 25th & July 26th, 2009 The Bergen explorer weekend was held last weekend July 25th and 26th. The first day was training on Mercy flight, bus safety, ladders, knots, & search and rescue. The second day was competitions, hose rolling, turn out gear efficiency, bucket brigade, and water ball. Search & Rescue - Leroy - Monday - July 20th, 2009 On Monday July 20th., Le Roy Fire Department hosted Search and Rescue training using the house on the property of the proposed Wal-Mart store on Route 5 in the Town of Le Roy. Forty five Firefighters from Le Roy, Stafford and Pavilion participated in the evenings training session. Under the command of Lt. Mike Joy, multiple Search and Rescue evolutions were conducted throughout the evening. Explosion - York - Friday - July 17th, 2009 On Friday morning July 17th, 2009 the York Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to a reported building explosion at the Arkema 3289 Genesee St. in Piffard. Responding units were met by plant security and advised they did have a building explosion, however it was being handled by the Plant Emergency Response Team, however outside resources could be needed. York Command requested a pumper from Geneseo Fire Department, Cuylerville Fire Department, and Leicester Fire Department to the scene to stage if needed. Geneseo also responded a ambulance to the staging area. Caledonia Fire Department provided a fill in for York Fire Department. The Plant requested the Livingston County Haz Mat Team to assemble and later to respond with supplies. Assisting at the scene was the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management, the Livingston County Sheriff's Office, and the New York State Police. |

Head On MVA - East Avon - Saturday - July 4th, 2009 On Saturday afternoon July 4th, 2009 the East Avon Fire Department, Avon Ambulance, and Avon Medic 70 were dispatched to a reported MVA, with a vehicle on fire, on East Avon Lima Road (Rts 5 & 20) between I-390 and the Jenks Road, in the area of the Coyne Farm. Car 27 went on location with a 2 car MVA, on vehicle on its top, and entrapment. Updates reported three patients and Mercy Flight was requested. Avon Fire Department was requested for a Landing Zone on the East Avon Lima Road bridge over I-390 and to assist with highway closures. East Avon Lima Road was closed between Lakeville Road (Rt 5) and Jenks Road and the I 390 North Exit was closed. Livonia Ambulance with Medic 74 provided a third ambulance. Extensive extrication was completed in approximately an hour. One of Avon's Ambulance and Livonia's ambulance transported patients to an area hospital. Avon's other ambulance transported a patient to the Landing Zone for transport by Mercy Flight. Geneseo Ambulance, returning from a Rochester Hospital, stood by at Exit 10. Barn Fire - East Avon - Thursday - June 25th, 2009 The East Avon Fire Department, with automatic mutual assist from Rush Fire Department, and Avon Ambulance were dispatched to a reported Barn Fire at 5403 Barber Road on Thursday afternoon June 25th, 2009. Just prior to the dispatch a band of severe thunderstorms passed through the area. Car 27 went on location with a fully involved 3 barn complex. Mutual Aid was requested from Avon Fire Department, Caledonia Fire Department, Lima Fire Department, Lakeville Fire Department, Livonia Fire Department, Mumford Fire Department, Mendon Fire Department, and Ionia Fire Department for tankers and man power. Mayday Training - Livingston Co. Fire Training Center - Sunday - June 7th,
2009 On Sunday June 7th., Livingston County fire training center hosted a National Fire Academy " Calling the Mayday" Hands on training for firefighters. Under the direction of instructors Dave Macaluso, Mike Levey and John Ellis, firefighters from Livonia, Geneseo and Wayland Fire Departments were placed in hands on situations through out the morning. This course is designed to increase the awareness of firefighters who may be required to call a Mayday or Respond to a Mayday Incident. The course defines a Mayday situation. Why firefighters fail to, or delay calling a Mayday. Mayday decision making parameters and calling procedure and identify Mayday training and drill needs for the fire service. Structure Fire - Leroy- Thursday - May 21st, 2009 The Leroy Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to a reported house fire at 8484 East Main Street Road shortly after midnight the morning of Thursday May 21st, 2009. While responding Leroy Command was updated that Law Enforcement was on location and reported a fully involved house fire. Command requested Caledonia Fire Department, Bergen Fire Department, and Pavilion Fire Department to the scene. Car vs Tree MVA- Mt. Morris - Monday - May 18th, 2009 The Mt. Morris Fire Department and Mt. Morris Ambulance along with Livingston County ALS were dispatched to a report of a car head on into a tree on Route 36 near Beagole Road at about 11:30am on Monday May 18th, 2009. Command reported 2 patients trapped in the vehicle and requested Mercy Flight. One patient was extricated and transported by Mercy Flight to an area hospital. The other patient despite the efforts of the personnel on scene, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Leicester Fire Department filled in while Mt. Morris was at the accident. Investigating the accident is the Livingston County Sheriff's Office. Assisting at the scene was the Livingston County District Attorney's Office and the Livingston County Corner's Office. |

Dansville 5101 went on location an relayed that there was a fully involved vacant structure on fire with an exposure in danger. Sparta 5502 went enroute and requested a pumper from Dansville to the scene. Also requested to the scene was 1 pumper from Groveland. The Conesus Fire Department filled in for Sparta. Structure Fire - York - Saturday - April 25th,
2009 On Saturday April 25th. the York Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a structure fire at 1723 Macintyre Rd in the Town of York. First arriving fire units reported flames showing with a further update that most of the fire appeared to be on the outside wall of the structure. An aggressive attack was able to bring the fire under control, keeping most of the damage to the garage area. Brush Fire - Caledonia/Mumford/Leroy - Friday - April
19th, 2009 On Friday April 19th. the Leroy Fire Department was dispatched for a standby in Caledonia. Caledonia was working a grass fire on the eastern part of the Town. While en rout a large column of smoke could be seen in the area of Flint Hill Rd and Gulf Rd. After investigating, A large woods and field fire was discovered covering approximately 25 acres, sending fire equipment from Genesee, Livingston and Monroe County's to the scene. Firefighter - EMT - Passes Away It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Jaime L. Snyder - Chapman as the result of a motor vehicle accident the morning of Monday April 13th, 2009. Jaime was an active member of the Dansville Ambulance and the Sparta Volunteer Fire Department. Jaime was a former member of the East Avon Volunteer Fire Department, the Dansville Fire Department, and the Avon Rotary Lions Ambulance. Calling hours will be 7pm to 9pm on Thursday April 16th and 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm on Friday April 17th. Fire Department Service, Friday night April 17th at 6:30pm. Caledonia Fire Department Field Days 2009 The Caledonia Fire Department is hosting a Firemen's Field Days on June 26th and 27th, 2009 at the Fair Grounds on Leicester Street. Vehicle Fire - Groveland - Tuesday - March 30th, 2009 On Monday March 30th, 2009 the Groveland Fire Department was dispatched to a garbage truck fire on West Lake Road at Maple Beach Road. Car 3202 arrived on location and reported heavy smoke from the compactor on the truck. Firefighters had to dump the contents of the compactor into the road to extinguish the fire. West Lake Road was shut down during the firefighting operations. Assisting at the scene was the Livingston County Sheriff's Office. 2009 The Perry Center & Perry Fire Departments were dispatched to a reported barn fire at 2008 Simmons Road at approximately 02:30 am on Saturday morning, March 21st, 2009. While responding Perry Center 50 requested a 2nd Alarm to be put on Stand By In Quarters. Command went on location, reported a working fire, and requested the 2nd Alarm to respond. Controlled Burn - Stafford - Saturday - March 7th, 2009 On Saturday March 7th., Stafford Fire Department conducted a controlled burn on Sweetland Rd in the Town of Stafford. With the assistance of Le Roy and Bethany, multiple hand line were deployed around the structure. Car into the River - Avon - Thursday March 5th, 2009 The Avon Fire Department, Avon Ambulance, and Avon ALS Medic 70 were dispatched to the area of the Driving Park on Spring St. for a report of vehicle into the river with a subject still in the vehicle. This was a radio alarm from Avon PD as the result of a earlier pursuit by the New York State Police. Avon Command requested mutual aid from East Avon Fire Dept., Caledonia Fire Dept., Geneseo Fire Dept and Ambulance, Livonia Ambulance and ALS, and the Monroe County 5th Battalion Water Rescue Team which brought Rush, Scottsville, and Honeoye Falls Fire Departments. East Avon Fire Department and Caledonia Ambulance with Medic 7701 filled in at the Avon Fire Station and Lima Fire Dept. filled in for East Avon. Divers for the New York State Police, New York State DEC, and Livingston County Sheriff's Office Assisted. The investigation is being handled by the New York State Police with the Avon Police Department and Livingston County Sheriff's Office assisting. One victim was transported to an area hospital. 2009 The Perry Center and Perry Fire Departments were dispatched to a radio report that Wyoming County Medic 80 was on fire at the intersection of US Hwy 20A and the Perry Warsaw Airport Road the morning of of Wednesday March 4th, 2009. Perry Ambulance responded and transported the patient that was aboard Medic 80 to the Perry Warsaw Airport for transfer to Mercy Flight Batavia. Perry Center 50 went on location with nothing showing. Genesee Fire Department Mourns the loss of Young EMT
The Geneseo Fire Department and Ambulance is mourning the tragic loss of Arman Partamian. Arman was a EMT with the Geneseo Fire Department and with SUNY Geneseo First Responders. Arman was found deceased at the PIGS Fraternity house on Lower Court Street the morning of Sunday March 1st, 2009. The New York State Police are investigating the death. |

Structure Fire - Conesus - Sunday - February 22nd,
2009 On Sunday night, February 22, at 6:30 p.m., Conesus Fire Department and Livonia EMS were dispatched to a reported tree fire at 5350 East Lake Road on Conesus Lake. A Livingston County Sheriff's deputy arrived on location and reported a structure fire. Due to the close proximity of the homes in area, the fire spread to a second residence to the south. Additional assistance was requested to the scene from Livonia and Lakeville fire departments.Groveland, East Avon and Hemlock fire departments were placed on stand-by during the incident. The blaze was brought under control in about in about 45 minutes. The cause of the fire was under investigation by officials from the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management. There were no injuries. The Conesus and Livonia Fire Departments returned on Monday Morning February 23rd, 2009 for a rekindle. Structure Fire - Livonia - Thursday - February 5th,
2009 The Livonia Fire Department and Livonia Ambulance along with automatic mutual aid for a Quint from Honeoye Fire Department were dispatched to a reported barn fire on South Livonia Road the evening of Thursday, February 5th, 2009 shortly after 9:00pm. Livonia Command reported a working fire and requested Lakeville, Conesus, Hemlock, Geneseo, and East Avon to assist at the scene or with stand bys. Photos by Jeffrey Arnold. |

Structure Fire - Pavilion - Thursday - February 5th,
2009 On Thursday, February 5th. the Pavilion Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a barn fire at 584 Perry Rd in the Town of Covington. First arriving fire unit encountered smoke from a pole barn style building. Upon investigation by Pavilion First Assistant Chief Paul Dougherty he located Calvin Pursel, Who is confined to a wheelchair and was trying to crawl from the building. Dougherty and an unknown bystander rescued Pursel from the building. Pursel was taken to Wyoming County Community hospital for smoke inhalation. The fire was knocked down quickly with little damage to the structure. Departments assisting Pavilion, Sorry to the departments that I missed, were LeRoy, Bethany, Wyoming, Leicester and York. 2009 On Friday, January 30th. The Mount Morris Fire Department was dispatched to a report of Smoke in the Building at the Letchworth Country Store on Mount Morris Geneseo Rd in the Town of Mount Morris. Fatal Car Pedestrian MVA - Geneseo - Wednesday - January
28th, 2009 The Geneseo Fire Department and Ambulance along with Livingston County ALS were dispatched to a reported Car vs Pedestrian MVA on Wednesday evening January 28th, 2009 at approximately 8:30pm on North Road just south of Lakeville Road. Mercy Flight was placed on stand by but was unable to fly do to weather conditions. Car 31 went on location and reported 1 patient that was Surgical 500. The victim was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital. Despite the efforts of the emergency responders, the patient did not survive. Investigating the accident is the Livingston County Sheriff's Office. Assisting was the Avon Village Police Department and the Town of Geneseo Highway Department. |

17th, 2009 On Tuesday January 27th., The Pavilion Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a house fire at 6714 Brownell Rd in the Town of Covington. First arriving fire units encountered a fire on an outside corner of the house and requested assistance from Alexander, Bethany, Le Roy, Stafford, Bergen, Fast team from the City of Batavia, Wyoming, Perry, Perry Center, Warsaw, York, Leicester, and Caledonia. Fatal Structure Fire - Perry Center - Monday - January
19th, 2009 On Monday January 19th., The Perry and Perry Center Fire Departments were dispatched to a report of a possible structure fire near the Perry Center Fire Hall on Route 246 in the Town of Perry. Perry Center 50 went on location and confirmed a working fire and requested assistance from Warsaw, Wyoming, Castile, Leicester and Pavilion. The fire was in a two unit apartment house at 2839 route 246 and unfortunately during the extinguishing of the fire it was discovered that a 74 year old woman had perished The temperature at the time of the fire was in the single digits making it even more difficult to fight. Silver Springs was requested for a Rescue and Interior firefighters to assist with overhaul and too spell wet and cold fireman. Story and Photos provided by Jay Lynch. |

Structure Fire - Livonia - Saturday - January 17th, 2009 The Livonia Fire Department and Ambulance along with automatic mutual aid Honeoye's Quint responded to a reported chimney fire at 6874 Richmond Mills Road the morning of Saturday January 17th, 2009. Car 2502 went on location with a working structure fire. Lakeville and Hemlock Fire Departments responded to assist Livonia and Honeoye. Conesus Fire Department filled in for Livonia. Investigating the cause of the fire is the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management. Assisting at the scene was the Livingston County Sheriff's Office. |
