Andrew Eve Memorial
The Fire & EMS world in the Livingston County area lost a great friend Monday night August 13th, 2007. Andrew "Drew" Eve lost his long & courageous battle with Cystic Fibrosis. Those that knew Drew, know that he never let his disability hinder him from his daily activities. In fact, the days before his untimely death, I had spoken to Drew and he was excited bout hopefully returning to work soon.
Drew was a Livonia Firefighter, a former member of the Livonia Ambulance, a New York State Fire Instructor, a Livingston County E911 Dispatcher, A member or former member of many more organizations, and a friend to all who he met.
Please use this space to post your condolences to the Eve Family and/or your favorite "Drew" story. Everyone who has had contact with Drew has to have one or two they would like to share.

It's so hard to believe that just a week ago today, Drew was sitting in my office with his feet on my desk giving me a hard time!!! Back a few years ago, when Drew was having a bad day, I told him to go home, lay down and rest. His response was "Why? I can rest all I want when I'm dead" It is kind of odd to think of him telling me that now, but I guess that is a lesson for all of us. Get up, keep moving and be busy...its what keeps you going! There are so many funny stories I could tell about Kelley, Drew and I hiding the spilled Chili in the 911 center, dumping my gas grill in the middle of Genesee St (out of the bed of his truck) or Drew on the back of the jetski in the middle of Conesus Lake. He will me sadly missed by his coworkers, students, family and friends..but there are many stories that will remind us of his antics and give us giggle.

Billy Joel's song lyrics "Only the good die young" is represenative of Drew; however, drew was not just good, he was the best. As a past fire chief no matter how serious the nature of the call, it was always calming and reassuring hearing Drew's voice on the air. I will never forget listening to Drew orchestrate (dispatch) the Geneseo Interstate 390 MCI incident. His perfromance on that day is indicative of how he handled everyday of his life "FLAWLESS". You will forever be missed. Joe Gervase Past Chief, Mount Morris Fire Department
