Structure Fire - Livonia - Wednesday - November 28th, 2007 The Livonia Fire Department and Livonia Ambulance along with mutual aid from Honeoye Fire Department for a Quint were dispatched to a reported Chimney Fire with the house filling with smoke at 7051 Richmond Mills Road the evening of Wednesday November 28th, 2007. Assisting at the scene was the Livingston County Sheriff's Office. |

Wyoming 50 went on location and declared a working fire and requested a 2nd Alarm. This had to be modified do to a 3 Alarm fire in Stykersville. Structure Fire - Strykersville- Wednesday - November 28th, 2007 The Stykersville Fire Department was dispatched for a reported structure fire at in a Warehouse in Java Village the morning of Wednesday November 28th, 2007. Stykersville Command reported a large warehouse well involved and quickly requested a 2nd and 3rd alarm bringing equipment and manpower to the scene from Wyoming, Erie, and Genesee Counties. |

MVA - Geneseo - Tuesday - November 27th, 2007 The Geneseo Fire Department and Ambulance along with Livingston County ALS were dispatched to the scene, while Mercy Flight was placed on stand by, for the reported head on MVA, car vs tractor trailer on Rt. 39 in the area of Nations Road. Geneseo 3102 went on location and requested Mercy Flight to the scene. One victim was extricated and transported to the Geneseo Central School where the Landing Zone was set up. The patient was transferred to Mercy Flight and was flown to an area hospital. Investigating the accident is the Livingston County Sheriff's Office. Assisting at the scene was The New York State Police and the Geneseo Village Police Department. Livonia Ambulance covered calls in Geneseo while their ambulances were tied up with the MVA. |

Structure Fire - Dansville- Sunday - November 25th, 2007 The Dansville Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 11 Clay Street the early morning of Sunday November 25th, 2007. Dansville Police arrived on scene and confirmed a fire, with smoke on the 2nd and 3rd floors, and assisted evacuating the residents of the house. The fire was contained to one room of the residence however there was smoke damage throughout the structure. Structure Fire - Wyoming- Sunday- November 18th, 2007 On Sunday November 18th the Wyoming Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire on Sherman Avenue in the Village of Wyoming. First arriving Wyoming fire units encountered a working barn fire with exposure problems and requested second and third alarms bringing fire units from Wyoming, Genesee and Livingston County's to the scene. Fire units either at the scene or on standby were: From Wyoming County, Wyoming, Warsaw, Perry, Perry Center, Attica, Castile, Gainesville, Bennington, Silver Springs and Wyoming Correctional. Combine Fire - Mt. Morris - Saturday - November 3rd,
2007 Early Saturday afternoon, Nov 3, 2007, the Mt. Morris Fire Department was dispatched to a combine fire on the Union Corners Rd.in the Twon of Mt. Morris. First arriving firefighters found a fully involved John Deere 6620 combine. The combine, owned by Nate Powell of West Sparta was being operated by his father, Todd Powell, picking corn on lands near the State Woods. Todd felt the seat becoming warm and when he stopped and opend the cab door, the cab flashed over, and became fully involved. Two fire extinguishers did not slow the fire. Mt. Morris firefighters under the command of Chief Jim Mann quickly extinguished the fire. Training - Leicester - Sunday - October 28th, 2007 On Sunday October 28th,The Leicester Fire Department conducted a live fire exercise in the Village of Leicester. The home at 25 York Rd was used by the firefighters for training activities the last two week that ended with a Controlled Burn this morning. York set up to draft at the creek and supplied water to the north side of the fire building while Leicester set up two port-a-tanks and established a tanker shuttle at the corner of Main St. and York Rd to supply the south side. Structure Fire - Nunda - Sunday - October 28th, 2007 Just before 1:00 AM on Sunday October 28, 2007, Livingston County Sheriff's Deputy Kevin Geer came upon a fully involved structure fire on Route 408 just north of the Halstead Rd. Responding firefighters from Nunda, led by Chief Brian Wood, immediately called for a tanker from Mt. Morris and a fill in from Genesee Falls Fire Department. The concrete block building, formerly the Brink's Dairy, was indeed fully involved. When the first streams of water hit the concrete blocks, cracks developed that made entry into the structure inadvisable. The fire worked its way into the space between the ceiling and the flat roof and was impossible to reach. A Drott was called in from the Town of Nunda and the building was leveled. Cause of the fire remains under investigation. Fire Investigators Niedermaier, Gehrig and Pearson were on scene all night with the firefighters. The Sheriff's Office turned responsibility over to the Nunda PD but continued to assist with traffic control throughout the night. Story and pictures by Tom Pearson. |

October 20th, 2007 The Groveland and Dansville Fire Departments, Dansville Ambulance, and Livingston County ALS were dispatched to a reported Car Pedestrian MVA on I-390 NB North of Exit 6 the morning of Saturday October 20th, 2007. Livingston County Sheriff's Office arrived on scene and reported a possible DOA. Responding EMS confirmed it was a DOA. Assisting at the Scene was the NY State Police and the Livingston County Corner's Office. The Livingston County Sheriff's Office is continuing its investigation. Training - Leicester - Wednesday - October 17th &
24th, 2007 On Wednesday October 17th. and again on the 24th. The Leicester and Mount Morris Fire Departments had the opportunity to conduct training evolution's on an old home in the Village of Leicester. This home allowed the firefighters to train in a more realistic environment without the worry of creating unwanted damage to the building. Leicester Firefighter Jeff Loudin brings his knowledge and experience to the department from 11 years as a Professional Firefighter and oversaw many of the evolution's. 2007 On Wednesday September 12th, The Leicester and Cuylerville fire Departments were dispatched to a report of a truck fire at the corner of River and Perry Rd in the Town of Leicester. Leicester Mini Pumper 133 was the first arriving fire unit on location and encountered a fully involved Ford Ranger. The pick up has been having electrical problems prior to the fire and had some ammunition in the cab that was going off as firefighters were arriving on the scene. Assisting Leicester and Cuylerville were Mount Morris Fire, Mount Morris Ambulance, York Fire on standby for Leicester , Livingston County Sheriff Department and Livingston County Emergency Management. 2007 The Hemlock Fire Department and Livonia Ambulance were dispatched to a reported house fire on Main Street Hemlock the evening of Wednesday September 12th, 2007. A chief arrived and reported the fire out, however the house charged with smoke. Command requested Livonia Ambulance to check a child that had reported smoke inhalation. New Leroy 63
On August 27th the LeRoy Fire Department placed
into service the new Engine 63. This apparatus will play a key role in the
response of the fire department to all areas of the district. Engine 63 will
be the first responding unit to all fires and motor vehicle accidents.
The truck has a 500+ horsepower Caterpillar engine. The power is used to
drive the 2000 gallons per minute pump and put the 1800 gallons of water in
the tank into motion. It has a telescoping light tower that is powered by an
onboard 15K generator. The generator also helps power a full set of “Jaws of
Life” extrication equipment.
Many hours of planning, inspecting, outfitting and driver training went in
to getting this Engine in service. The entire process took almost a year to
complete. Thanks to all those who made extra efforts to get this valuable

Car 2202 went on location with a 4 car MVA with at least 2 people trapped and requested East Avon for an additional set of extrication tools. Avon EMS Command requested Avon's 2nd Ambulance and a Caledonia Ambulance to the scene for a 3rd Ambulance. Three patients were transported to area hospitals. Andrew Eve Nov. 11, 1973 - Aug. 13, 2007 It is with deep regret we had to report the untimely death of Andrew "Drew" Eve from the Livonia Fire Department. Andrew passed away Monday evening August 13th, 2007 surrounded by his family. Andrew fought a long and courageous battle with Cystic Fibrosis. Andrew's wishes where to have his body donated to science for Cystic Fibrosis research & there were NO Calling Hours & NO Funeral, Andrew's family honored this. Andrew requested a Celebration of Life gathering. That was held on Friday August 17th, 2007 at 1:00pm at Long Point Park, on Conesus Lake; West Lake Road, Geneseo. Andrew was a Livonia Firefighter, former EMT-I with Livonia EMS, a New York State Fire Instructor, Livingston County E911 Police/Fire/EMS Dispatcher, & a friend to all. 1st, 2007 On Sunday July 1st. Perry and Perry Center Fire Departments along with Perry EMS were dispatched at 11:37 am to a reported house fire at 6749 Oatka Rd in the Town of Perry. First arriving fire units encountered a house that was well involved. A second alarm was requested sending Castile, Warsaw, Silver Springs, and Wyoming to the scene and Leicester, Pavilion, Genesee Falls and Bethany on standby. Mt. Morris Firefighter - Killed in PA Bus Crash -
June 29th, 2007 The Livingston Area Fireline Network extends its deepest sympathy to the Mt. Morris Fire Department and the Family of Carl Fowler upon learning of Carl's untimely death. Carl was killed in a tour bus accident this morning on I-81 in New Milford Township, PA. Twelve other people were injured in the crash. More details are posted on News10 NBC, RNews, and 13 Wham TV. Calling hours: Thursday July 5th from 4pm to 9pm at the Martin Funeral Home, Mt. Morris. Firefighters services will be held. All firefighters are requested to meet at the Mt. Local news media is reporting that Roger Yencer Jr. has been arrested for the 4th time in a year. They are also reporting that the Mt. Controlled Burn - Pavilion - Monday - June 18th, 2007 On Monday June 18th. the Pavilion Fire Department conducted a controlled burn at 10588 South Street Rd in the Town of Pavilion. The barn had been pushed into a pile away from overhead power lines. Hand lines were deployed around the fire as a tanker shuttle was being set up. Controlled Burn - Sparta - Saturday - June 16th, 2007 On Saturday June 16th the Sparta Fire Department conducted alive burn exercise in an old home at 7904 Sparta Springwater TL Rd. in the Town of Sparta. Sparta and surrounding departments had the opportunity to conducted training evolution's on the house prior to Saturdays drill. Groveland Engine 324 set up a draft at a pond on the neighboring property and supplied Springwater Engine 544 through 400' LDH. Springwater placed hand lines to protect exposures to the North of the fire building while Sparta Engine 554 set up to draft from two port-a-tanks. Sparta set up hand lines to protect exposures on the South side while a tanker shuttle was being set up. Electrical Fire - Geneseo - Saturday - June 16th,
2007 The Geneseo Fire Department and Geneseo Ambulance were dispatched to an Electrical fire at the Tractor Supply Store on Lakeville Road the afternoon of Saturday June 16th, 2007. Haz Mat - East Avon - Wednesday - June 13th, 2007 On June 13th the East Avon Fire Department had received a call of a tank leaking propane but it had turned out to be Anhydrous Ammonia. 2701 was first to arrive on scene, at this time the gas was pouring across the road. The tank is a 3800lb tank containing about 3200lbs of the gas inside. 278 and 275 then arrived on scene blocking off all off the whole road. About ten minutes later the gas finally died down, killing all the grass around it and in about a day there will be nothing there. The tank had originally spilled because the hose connected to the tractor had broken off causing the Anhydrous Ammonia to leak out like it did. The tank and tractor had belonged to Stokee farms. Because it was their property they had arrived on scene and helped clean up the mess. Once they smothered the gas with the dirt they were able to go home. Assisting at the scene was the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management and the Livingston County Sheriff's Office. Controlled Burn - York - Sunday - June 10th, 2007 On Sunday, June 10th., The York Fire Department conducted a live burn exercise at 3501 Retsof Rd in the Town of York. The object of the drill was an old house that was being removed to make room for a new one. Engine 173 set up a draft at the creek next to the treatment plant and Engine 175 laid 800' of LDH supply line down the side of the road to the fire building. Master streams and hand lines were set up to protect exposures. Engine 174 was standing by a hydrant with lines laid but not charged. Water Supply Drill - Dansville - Saturday - June 9th,
2007 On Saturday June 9th the Dansville Fire Department conducted a water supply drill at Babcock Park in the Village of Dansville. Dansville's new engine 514 set up a draft out of one of the three port-a-tanks that were set up and deployed two master streams for the test. Two draft sites were set up at a small creek in the village. On William St. Mount Morris and Sparta used a mini pumper and portable pumps to fill tankers and on Van Campen St. Dansville used portable pumps to pump into a port-a-tank. Dansville's Engine 515 drafted from the port-a-tank to fill tankers. Structure Fire - City of Batavia - Friday - June 8th,
2007 On Friday June 8th, 2007 the City of Batavia Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire with smoke and flames showing at 39 Washington Ave. First arriving units encountered a working fire in the maintenance building of the Batavia City Schools. Engine 14 hit the hydrant at the corner of Porter Ave. and Washington Ave. and laid 500 feet of LDH down the driveway to feed Engine 12. An aggressive interior attack was able to control the fire in a relatively short period of time. Additional platoons were requested to the scene to help with overhaul due to very warm weather conditions. The temperature at the time of the fire was in the 90's. Fire Department medics were on hand to keep an eye on the firefighters. Firefighters from the Town of Batavia were placed on stand by in their quarters while the City was busy with the fire. Controlled Burn - Alexander - Saturday - June 2nd, 2007 On Saturday June 2nd, Alexander Fire Department conducted a controlled burn on Stannard Rd in the Town of Alexander. An old partially dismantled house was the object of the days exercise. Alexander 6 laid a 700' LDH supply line down a driveway to a pond behind a residence across the road from the fire building and proceeded to set up a draft. Attica 5 connected to the supply line at the end of the driveway and supplied Alexander 7. Two master streams were set up on each side of the building. MVA - Avon - Wednesday - May 30th, 2007 Just as Avon Fire Department and Avon Ambulance were being released from East Avon's Structure Fire they were dispatched along with Medic 70 to a reported head on MVA on Genesee Street at Oak Street. Avon Fire Department went on location with a 2 car head on MVA. The operator of one vehicle saw the second car coming at them and was stopped at the time of the collision. The other vehicle hit the stopped vehicle as a very slow speed. Both operators were checked out by Avon Ambulance and neither were injured. Investigating the cause of the accident is the Avon Village Police Department. |

Structure Fire - East Avon - Wednesday - May 30th, 2007 The East Avon Fire Department and Avon Ambulance were dispatched to a reported barn fire on East Avon Lima Road near 390 the morning of Wednesday May 30th, 2007. The NY State Police were first on location and confirmed a fully involved, large, barn on fire. Car 2701 went on location and requested Avon and Lima Fire Departments to the scene. A later request brought Lakeville and Livonia Fire Departments to the scene. Investigating the cause of the fire is the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management. Structure Fire - Mumford - Tuesday - May 29th, 2007 On Tuesday morning May 29th the Mumford Fire Department along with automatic mutual aide from Caledonia were dispatched to a reported house fire at 1067 Main Street in Mumford. First unit on scene reported smoke showing, assistance was requested from Scottsville and Churchville. Churchville was placed back in service and Scottsville filled in for Mumford. Structure Fire - Perry - Saturday - May 26th, 2007 The alarm that no fire fighter wants to hear occurred Saturday Morning May 26th, 2007 in Perry Center. Perry Center and Perry Fire Departments were dispatched to a reported structure fire at the Perry Center Fire Station on Rt. 246 in the Hamlet of Perry Center. Perry Center 501 went on location and immediately requested a Second Alarm. Responding on the second alarm were: Warsaw, Wyoming, Pavilion, Castile, Wyoming Correctional and Leicester Fire Departments. Castile Fire Department also filled in for Perry Fire Department and York Fire Department filled in for Leicester Fire Department. Additional ambulances responded from Warsaw and Castile. Structure Fire - Avon - Wednesday - May 23rd, 2007 The Avon Fire Department and Avon Ambulance were dispatched Wednesday Evening, May 23rd, 2007 at approximately 20:00 hrs for a reported drier fire in the basement of the Avon Inn, 55 East Main St. Car 2201 went on location with smoke showing. Investigation found a fire in the drier with a heavy smoke condition. Prior to the arrival of the fire department, employees of the Avon Inn used a fire extinguisher to contain the fire. There was no extension to the structure except for the some smoke. While crews were picking up at the Avon Inn, a second alarm came in for the odor of natural gas in a residence on North Avenue came in. The crew from Quint 228 and Car 2202 handled the North Ave job and then returned to the Avon Inn. Crews were back in service at approximately 21:30 hrs. |

Controlled Burn - Nunda - Sunday - May 20th, 2007 Nunda Fire Department held a multi drill on Sunday morning May 20th. at 481 Springbrook Road in the Town of Nunda. The home had been demolished prior to today live fire exercise. A port-a-tank was set up at each end of the fire building & many hand lines were positioned around to protect exposures. Departments involved in the controlled burn were Nunda, West Sparta, Mount Morris, Cuylerville, Genesee Falls, Canaseraga, Castile & Dansville on standby for Nunda. Barn Fire - Groveland - Tuesday - May 8th, 2007 May 8th at As members embarked to
the Stations for apparatus, dispatchers advised that this structure is
reported to be fully involved and several explosions have been heard.
Car 32, Groveland Fire Chief Steve Teeter quickly asked for an
additional alarm. Two Pumper/Tankers from Geneseo, Due to the amount of water needed an additional alarm was transmitted requesting fill in units at other Stations to respond to the scene. The building was an L-shaped metal barn. The main structure measured about 60 feet by 100 feet and secondary structure, 40 by 60 feet. Both structures were filled with over fifty years accumulation of machinery, farm and gardening equipment and a supply shop for the owners plumbing business. The blaze was knocked
down after a 2 hour master stream defensive attack by firefighters.
Agencies and Departments needed in this emergency were: Groveland
FD, Geneseo FD and Ambulance, Conesus FD, Mt. Morris FD, Springwater FD,
Lakeville FD and Cuylerville FD, The Livingston County Emergency
Management Office and Livingston County Sheriff’s Department.
Major support was given by other Departments as fill in units:

Tire Fire - Pavilion - Saturday - April 21st, 2007 On Saturday April 21st., The Pavilion Fire Department was dispatched to a tire fire at R W Taylor Trucking & Excavating on route 246 in the Town of Covington. A large column of black smoke could be seen for miles as fire equipment from three county's responded to the fire. Controlled Burn - Livonia - Monday - April 9th, 2007 On Monday evening, April 9th., The Livonia Fire Department held a multi department training exercise in an old house at 4941 South Livonia Rd in the Town of Livonia. The house had been used previously by the department for different training evaluations prior to this evenings live fire exercise. Hemlock Fire, with there new pumper, laid a LDH supply line and hit the Hydrant to supply water to Livonia's two pumpers at the fire building. 2007 On Saturday morning, March 31st. The Mount Morris Fire Department conducted a controlled burn at 6955 Cleveland Rd in the Town of Mount Morris. An old Barn that had fallen down and other out buildings were the subject of the drill. The buildings were being burned to make room for a new home to be built. The remaining house on the property may be used by the Fire Department for training in the fall and then burned. 2007 The Springwater Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to stand by in quarters for a possible structure fire as the result of a domestic situation the evening of March 27th, 2007. The New York State Police went on location confirming a working fire and a subject in the residence. The subject did exit the structure on his own and was taken into custody by the New York State Police. Car 54 went on location and requested mutual aid to the scene from Hemlock, Conesus, and Sparta Fire Departments. Wayland was requested to stand by for Springwater. MVA - Rush - Tuesday - March 6th, 2007 The Rush Fire Department and Ambulance along with ALS Henrietta Medic 51 were dispatched to a reported car vs. tractor trailer MVA, with the tractor trailer rolled over, on I390 North near Rush Exit 11, the morning of Tuesday March 6th, 2007. Rush 5C68 went on location and reported a person trapped in the car. After 45 minutes the patient was extricated and transported to an area hospital. Investigating the accident is the Monroe County Sheriff's Office. Assisting at the Scene was the New York State Police and an additional ambulance from Henrietta Ambulance. 6th, 2007 Sheriff John M. York, in the interest of Public Safety declared a State of Emergency Monday Afternoon, March 5th, 2007. Thereby closing all roads in Livingston County, with the exception of Emergency Vehicles and Personal and Essential Employees. The State of Emergency was issued to do numerous serious motor vehicle accidents do to blowing and drifting snow. At 8:00 am on Tuesday Morning, Sheriff York canceled the State of Emergency and issued a Travel Advisory for "No Unnecessary Travel". |

Structure Fire - Bergen - Sunday - March 4th, 2007 The Bergen Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to a reported automatic alarm at Miller Woodworking, Rt. 19 at the Railroad tracks on Sunday March 4th, 2007 at approximately 5:00 am. A Bergen Chief went on location with heavy smoke from a 2 story commercial structure and requested a second alarm. As equipment was responding the fire was upgraded to heavy fire in a large warehouse type structure. Ice Water Rescue Training - Conesus & Hemlock - Sun.
- Feb. 25th, 2007 On Sunday February 25th the Hemlock and Conesus Fire Departments conducted Ice Water Rescue Drills on Hemlock Lake. Conesus Fire Department utilized there Air Boat for some of the rescue evolution's throughout the morning. Car Fire - Groveland - Sunday - February 25th, 2007 While on routine patrol on I-390, a NYS Trooper located a car fire on I-390 between Sonyea Rd. (Rt. 36) and Pioneer Road. The Groveland Fire Department, Geneseo Ambulance, and Dansville Ambulance were dispatched. Investigating the cause of the fire is the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management. Barn Fire - Mt. Morris- Sunday - February 25th, 2007 The Mt. Morris Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to a reported barn fire at 3053 Moyer Road the afternoon of Sunday, February 25th, 2007. Car 4104 went on location with smoke showing. Car 41 requested a pumper tanker from Nunda and West Sparta to the scene. Car 41 requested Cuylerville for a fill in. Nunda Ambulance filled in for Mt. Morris Ambulance. Investigating the cause of the fire is the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management. Assisting at the scene was the Livingston County Sheriff's Office. New Rescue Truck - York - Friday - February 23rd,
2007 Chief John Morgan, Asst. Chief Alex Curry Jr., along with other members of the York Fire Department traveled to Connecticut on Friday, February 23rd, 2007 to inspect a used Rescue Truck that had been listed on FireTec for sale. The delegation returned Friday evening with the truck. York's new to them rescue truck is a 1982 Pierce on a Ford F750 Chassis. York over the next few weeks will be putting the truck in service. Pictures will be posted as soon as we get them. |

Structure Fire - Springwater - Saturday - February
24th, 2007 The Springwater Fire Department and Ambulance along with E39 automatic mutual assistance were dispatched to a reported house fire at 9080 Becker Road the evening of Saturday, February 24th, 2007. Car 54 went on location with a fully involved house fire. Car 5401 requested tankers from Atlanta and Perkinsville to the scene. The Conesus Fire Department filled in for Springwater and Dansville Fire Department filled in for Wayland. Investigating the cause of the fire is the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management. Assisting at the scene was the New York State Police, the Livingston County Sheriff's Office, and the Clara Barton Chapter #1 of the American Red Cross. |

Structure Fire - Nunda - Saturday - February 24th,
2007 The Nunda Fire Department and Nunda Ambulance were dispatched to a report of smoke in the structure at the residence on the corner of Main St. and Maple St. in the Hamlet of Dalton the afternoon of Saturday, February 24th, 2007. Car 42 went on location and reported smoke in the attic. The Mt. Morris Fire Department stood by while Nunda was at the scene. |

MVA - East Avon - Friday - February 23rd, 2007 The East Avon Fire Department, Avon Ambulance, and Livingston County ALS were dispatched to a reported tractor trailer rolled over and a person trapped, on I-390, North bound, North of Exit 10, Friday morning February 23rd, 2007 at approximately 5:30am. Car 2701 went on location with a tractor trailer with tandem trailers on its side. Avon Ambulance with Livingston County ALS transported one patient to an area hospital. Investigating the accident is the Livingston County Sheriff's Office. |

MVA - York - Friday - February 23rd, 2007 The York Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to a two tractor trailer MVA on Genesee St (Rt.63) at the Wyoming County Line early Friday morning, February 23rd, 2007. York Command went on location with a tractor trailer vs a dump truck with a trailer at the Wyoming County Line, just into Livingston County. York EMS requested ALS, which was started out of Monroe County. York Ambulance transported both operators to area hospitals. Investigating the cause of the accident is the Livingston County Sheriff's Office. Auto Extrication Drill - Mt. Morris - Wednesday -
February 21st, 2007 On Wednesday February 21st. the Mount Morris and West Sparta Fire Departments along with the Mount Morris Ambulance participated in an Auto Extrication Drill on East Ridge Rd in the Town of Mount Morris. A Mini Van, A Car on its side and a small SUV on its roof were the subject of the exercise. Under the direction of Mount Morris Fire Chief, Joe Gervase, Members utilized several rescue tools. Air Bags, Cribbing, Assorted hand tools as well as two sets of the "Jaws of Life" were used. At the end of the exercise all members gathered around to discuss the operation. Smoke Investigation - Patient Not Alert - W. Sparta -
February 13th, 2007 The West Sparta Fire Department along with Dansville Ambulance and Livingston County ALS were dispatched to a structure filled with smoke and an occupant still inside. 5801 went on location to find the occupant (suffering from smoke inhalation) had been pulled from the structure by a neighbor. A stove pipe had become disconnected thus causing the house to fill with smoke. The occupant was transported to the hospital with ALS. 2007 On Saturday, February 10, East Avon Fire and Avon EMS, along with Livonia Medic 74, responded to an MVA with a report of people trapped on Route 15 near Kemp's Bus Service. MVA - Geneseo - Saturday - February 3rd, 2007 On Saturday, February 3, at 11:30 a.m., Geneseo Fire and EMS responded to a 2 car MVA with a person trapped on Lakeville-Groveland Road. Firefighters freed the trapped victim using the "Jaws of Life", Mercy Flight Central was requested, but do a equipment malfunction at the scene, all patients were transported by Geneseo EMS to area hospitals with Livingston County ALS. Car 27 went on location with the MVA at the intersection of Rochester Road and West Lake Road, just into the Lakeville Fire and Livonia Ambulance District. Both were dispatched along with Livonia Ambulance ALS Medic 74. Avon Ambulance and Livonia Ambulance both with ALS, transported patients to area hospitals. 2007 On Tuesday evening, January 23rd, 2007 the Livonia Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to a reported garage fire on South Livonia Road. 2501 Brad Austin went on location and declared a working fire. 2501 requested Lakeville and Geneseo to the scene with 1 pumper and interior firefighters from each department. East Avon was requested for 1 pumper to fill in Lakeville for both Lakeville and Livonia Fire Departments. Investigating the cause of the fire is the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management. Structure Fire - Hemlock - Monday - January 22th,
2007 On Monday, January 22, Hemlock and Livonia Fire Departments and Livonia EMS responded to a reported structure fire with possible entrapment at 5074 Old Bald Hill Road. Car 25 arrived on location, reported a working basement fire and everyone out of the house. Richmond FD responded to the scene with a tanker and an aerial. The fire was brought under control in about 20 minutes. Livingston County Emergency Management also responded to the scene. Lakeville and East Avon Fire Departments filled in at Livonia. MVA - Livonia - Saturday - January 20th, 2007 On Saturday, January 20, Livonia Fire and EMS responded to a two-car MVA with people trapped on Route 15 near Van Zandt Road. Lakeville FD was requested to set up an LZ for Mercy Flight at the Livonia fire station. Two helicopters flew two patients to Strong, and a third was transported to Strong via Geneseo EMS and Medic 79. The Livingston County Sheriff's Office also responded to the scene. Mumford to Purchase Used Pumper Mumford is in need of a used pumper they can purchase that will last them 5 years. Their old pumper failed pump test and it is not economically worth it to put the money into the truck. Mumford could use a 4 man, 1250 gpm or more pumper. Controlled Burn - Alabama - Saturday - January 13th, 2007. On Saturday January 13th the Alabama Fire Department conducted a live fire exercise in an old mobile home on Alleghany Rd in the Town of Alabama. A tanker shuttle was set up to supply water to a Port-a-tank at the scene. Departments assisting Alabama on that snowy morning were Oakfield, Indian Falls, and Shelby. Structure Fire - Pavilion - Tuesday - January 9th, 2007 The Pavilion and LeRoy Fire Departments were dispatched to a reported House Trailer Fire with a possiblity of a person trapped at 10321 Creek Road on Tuesday night January 9th, 2007 at approximately 11:00pm. Pavilion 501 went on location with a fully involved house trailer fire and requested a second alarm. Several Fire Departments from Genesee and Wyoming Counties were dispatched to the scene or to fill ins. From Livingston County York responded with tankers to the scene but were re-routed to stand by at the Pavilion Fire Station. Caledonia Fire Department filled in while LeRoy was at the fire. House Fire - Alexander - Tuesday - January 9th, 2007 On Tuesday January 9th. the Alexander Fire Department was dispatched at 05:30am to a report of a structure fire at 10681 route 98 in the Town of Alexander. First unit on the scene reported smoke showing and requested a First Alarm. Crews from Attica, Bennington, Bethany, Darien and a FAST team from Town of Batavia were dispatched. Structure Fire - West Sparta - Wednesday - January 3rd, 2007 The West Sparta Fire Department and Dansville Ambulance were dispatched to a reported chimney fire on Reed Road during the evening of January 3, 2007. 5802 went on location with fire in the chimney and with some extension in the area of the insert. Personnel contained the fire to the chimney area. Dansville was requested to the scene with one pumper and Groveland provided a fill in. Car 5801 went on location with a car off the road upside down in the ditch. The victim had crawled from the car. Dansville Ambulance with ALS transported one victim to an area hospital.
