MVA - Cuylerville ~ Leicester Sunday - December 19th, 2004 The Cuylerville Fire Department & Ambulance, along with Leicester Fire Department and Mt. Morris ALS Medic 75 were dispatched to a reported roll over MVA on Sunday Morning, December 19th, 2004 at approximately 1:30am. Responding units found a SUV rolled over with 3 victims. Geneseo Ambulance and ALS from Livonia was requested to the scene. Cuylerville Ambulance and Medic 75 transported one victim to the hospital while Geneseo Ambulance and Livonia Medic 7401 transported a second victim. The third victim who claimed not to be injured at the scene, while going to the hospital, complained of injuries. Avon Ambulance and ALS transported the third victim to an area hospital. Investigating the cause of the MVA is the Livingston County Sheriff's Office. |

Lakeville Pass Chief Passes - Friday December 17th, 2004 It is with deep regret that the Lakeville Fire Department announces the passing of Past Chief, Dale Roets on Friday morning, December 17th, 2004. Dale had been fought a courageous battle with Cancer for several years. Calling hours were held on Sunday December 19th, 2004 at the Kevin Dougherty Funeral Home in Livonia. The funeral service was held Monday Morning, December 20th, 2004 at St. Matthews Church in Livonia. |

Chimney Fire - Springwater Tuesday - November 29th, 2004 At approximately 9:50 PM Tuesday November 29, 2004, the Springwater Fire Department was dispatched to a reported chimney fire at the Griffin residence at 8602 Strutt St. in the Town of Springwater. First in responders found flames coming from the chimney. Fire crews, led by Chief Terry Burke, were able to extinguish the fire and keep the problem within the chimney. Barn Fire - Sparta - Saturday November 27th, 2004 The Sparta Fire Department was dispatched to a reported barn fire on Route 63 in the vacinity of White Bridge Rd. on the Saturday afternoon, November 27, 2004. Mutual aid was requested from Dansville and Groveland. First in responders found a small barn fully involved. A quick attack with the deck gun darkened the flames and second in crews completed the job. The barn was a total loss as was a car parked behind the barn. Route 63 traffic was closed for approximately 1 hour. Deputy Weidrich and Sgt. Barkan from the LCSO assisted Investigators Pearson and Gehrig from Emergency Management Services in determining the cause of the fire. The cause of the fire was determined to be from wind blown embers from a corn field across the road that was being burned off after harvest. Pictures and story provided by Tom Pearson. |

MCI - MVA - East Avon - Friday November 26th, 2004 The East Avon Fire Department, Avon Ambulance, and Avon Ambulance ALS were dispatched to a reported MVA somewhere on Polebridge Road in Avon on Friday morning November 26th, 2004 at approximately 1:15am. The MVA was located near the Railroad Over Pass on Polebridge Road. A vehicle had struck a tree. It was reported there were 6 injured. East Avon Command requested both of Avon's Ambulances, both of Geneseo's Ambulances, Livonia Ambulance ALS, and Mercy Flight to the scene. Livonia Ambulance was requested to Minnehan's to stand by for Avon and Geneseo's Ambulances. Livonia's Ambulance was then requested to the scene and Lima was dispatched to Exit 9 to stand by. Mercy Flight transported one patient, Geneseo, Avon, and Livonia each transported one patient to area hospitals, Avon's second ambulance transported 2 patients to an area hospital. Geneseo's second ambulance transported a patient from the scene to the Mercy Flight Landing Zone and then went back into service after cleaning up. All the ALS units responded to a hospital with a patient. The Livingston County Sheriff's Office is investigating the accident. |

Barn Fire - Pavilion - Wednesday November 22nd, 2004 The Pavilion and Wyoming Fire Departments were assisted by several surround fire departments on Wednesday November 22nd, 2004 on Dotson Road in the Town of Covington at a barn fire. From Livingston County the Leicester Fire Department filled in for Perry Center Fire Department, Caledonia Fire Department Filled in for LeRoy Fire Department, York Fire Department filled in for the Pavilion Fire Department and sent Tanker 157 to the scene, and the East Avon Fire Department filled in for the York Fire Department. |

Hunter Rescue - East Avon - Monday November 20th, 2004 Monday afternoon November 20th, 2004 The East Avon Fire Department, Avon Ambulance, and Avon Ambulance ALS were again dispatched to rescue an injured hunter. This time they were dispatched to Triphammer Road near the Avon Geneseo Road for a hunter in the field injured do to a ATV accident. Responding units found a hunter who had rolled his ATV injured with back and neck injuries. After packaging the hunter in the stokes basket it was determined that it was too risky to put the subject in the back of the Chief's Truck for the ride out. The hunter was carried in the stokes basket to the waiting ambulance at the road. The hunter was transported to an area hospital. The Livingston County Sheriff's Office assisted. |

Hunter Rescue - East Avon - Monday November 20th, 2004 The East Avon Fire Department, Avon Ambulance, and Avon Ambulance ALS were dispatched to a call for an injured hunted in a ravine on Polebridge Road in the area of Twin Falls Drive on Monday November 20th, 2004. Responding units located a hunter at the bottom of the ravine with a laceration to the knee. The hunter was packaged and removed via stokes basket to the top of the ravine and then transported in the back of East Avon's Chief's truck to Avon's Ambulance. The hunter was transported to an area hospital. Assisting at the scene was the Livingston County Sheriff's Office. |

Dedication Ceremony - East Avon November 13th, 2004 The Commissioners of the Town of Avon Fire District along with the Members and Officers of the East Avon Fire Department hosted and Open House and Dedication Ceremony at their new Headquarters, 1615 West Henrietta Road on Saturday, November 13th, 2004 from 1:00 pm to 5:00pm. The Public, area Elected Officials, and members of neighboring departments viewed the new fire station, watched a power point presentation of the project from start to finish, and enjoy refreshments served by the East Avon Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. The Rush Fire Department present the Fire District and the Fire Department each a plaque. The New York State Association of Fire Chiefs presented a plaque for having a totally sprinklered fire station. The East Avon Fire Department presented the Town of Avon Fire District with a check to cover the cost of the Cascade System that was installed in the fire station. Structure Fire - Cuylerville November 12th, 2004 At approx 12:30 PM 11/12/04 the Cuylerville and Leicester Fire Depts and Cuylerville EMS were dispatched to a reported basement fire at 4985 School St in Cuylerville. Cuylerville Pumper 164 went on location with smoke showing from a 1 1/2 story wood frame. A quick attack was mounted by the Cuylerville crew and the fire was knocked down within minutes. Fire damage was limited to the basement area where the fire originated, although the entire house was charged with smoke. One of the homeowners was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital by Cuylerville EMS and Genesee Valley ALS for smoke inhalation. Assisting at the scene were Mt Morris and Retsof FDs for use of their thermal imaging cameras and manpower, the Livingston County Sheriffs Office, and the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management. The cause of the fire appears to be a spark from a contractor working in the basement igniting burlap that was covering the insulation in the floor joists. Story provided by Randy Worden. |

Apartment Fire - Geneseo November 4th, 2004 Geneseo Firefighters were dispatched to a reported apartment fire at 32 Main Street on Nov. 4, 2004 at approximately 2000 hrs. First arriving fire officers found a kitchen fire in a basement apartment. The fire was quickly controlled with extinguishers. The cause of the fire was determined to be an unattended stove burner. The apartment suffered extensive smoke damage. The law office on the main floor of the building did not sustain any damage. Story provided by Chief Andrew Chanler. |

MVA ~ Haz Mat - West Sparta October 18th, 2004 The West Sparta Fire Dept. and Dansville Rescue/Ambulance responded to a reported overturned tractor trailer a mile south of Exit 6. Car 5801 went on location near mile marker 31 with a tractor trailer on its side carrying frozen food. One saddle tank was leaking diesel fuel and engine. There was also transmission fluid on the roadway. Hazmat 1 was called to the scene for additional absorbent and pads. The Spill was contained to the area of the tractor. Assisting at the scene was New York State Police, Livingston County Sheriff office, West Sparta Fire dept. Dansville Fire Dept. and Livingston County Emergency Management Office. House Fire AND Barn Fire - York Wednesday - September 22nd, 2004 The York and Retsof Fire Departments and Ambulances were dispatched to a reported house fire at 3281 Flats Road in the Hamlet of Piffard on Wednesday morning, September 22nd 2004 at approximately 4:00am. Car 17 went on location and reported a working fire. The Geneseo Fire Department was requested to the scene and Leicester Fire Department was requested for a fill in in Retsof. Shortly after arriving, Leicester was requested to the scene and Cuylerville was dispatched for the Fill in. While Responding to the Fill In, The Cuylerville Fire Department was re-routed, the York & Retsof Fire Department were paged to advised, and the Caledonia Fire Department was dispatched Mutual Assistance, to a reported Barn Fire on McVean Road in the Town of York. Caledonia 1101 went on location with smoke and flames showing. York Car 15 responded to this scene and assumed command. Caledonia Fire Department and Cuylerville Fire Department quickly had this fire knocked down and under control. The cause of both fires is being investigated by the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management. Assisting at the scene of the Flats Road Fire was: The Geneseo Fire Department, Leicester Fire Department, the Pavilion Fire Department, the Mt. Morris Fire Department and the American Red Cross. Fill ins were: Perry Center Fire Department to Retsof, The Pavilion Fire Department in York, LeRoy Fire Department and Mumford Fire Department in Caledonia, Perry Fire Department in Leicester, and Lakeville Fire Department & Livonia Fire Department in Geneseo. MVA - West Sparta - Tuesday September 21st, 2004 The West Sparta Fire Department, Dansville Ambulance, and Rural Metro ALS Medic 73 were dispatched to a reported farm tractor rolled over with a subject trapped on Tuesday evening September 20th, 2004. Responding units found a farm tractor had gone off the edge of the road and rolled over. Despite the efforts of the responding personal, one subject was pronounced dead at the scene by the Livingston County Corners Office. House Fire - Dansville - Wednesday August 25th, 2004 The Dansville Fire Department and Dansville Ambulance were dispatched to a reported house fire at 9401 Main Street in the Town of North Dansville on Wednesday morning, August 25th, 2004. Dansville Police Department arrived on scene and found a multi occupancy residence well involved in fire. Dansville Police Officer Jeff Faugh evacuated the home owner while a employee from NYSE&G evacuated a apartment tenant. Assisting the Dansville Fire Department and Ambulance at the scene were: Sparta Fire Department, West Sparta Fire Department, Wayland Fire Department, Geneseo Fire Department, Wayland Ambulance and Springwater Ambulance. West Sparta Fire Department and Canaseraga Ambulance filled in for Dansville. Conesus Fire Department filled in for the Sparta Fire Department. Commercial Building Fire - Lakeville Tuesday - August 24th, 2004 The Lakeville Fire Department and Livonia Ambulance were dispatched to a reported structure fire at the Youngs & Linfoot Building on Big Tree Road in Lakeville on Tuesday, August 24th, 2004 at approximately 7:00 pm. Automatic mutual aid 1 Pumper from Livonia Fire Department and 1 Pumper and 1 Ladder Tower from Geneseo Fire Department were also started. East Avon Fire Department was requested to the scene with 1 Pumper and 1 Rescue. East Avon also provided 1 Pumper to fill in at Lakeville for both Lakeville and Geneseo. House Fire - Dansville - Tuesday - August 17th, 2004 At approximately 2:20 AM on Tuesday August 1, 2004, the Dansville Fire Department was dispatched to a smoke in the basement call at 10155 Lackawanna Rd. in Dansville. First in responders found smoke in the house from a gas clothes dryer fire in the basement utility room. Homeowners Don and Gail Hoag were awakened by their dog and then noticed the smell of smoke and heard the basement battery operated smoke alarm.. The Fire Department was called. Hay Baler Fire - Caledonia - Monday August 2nd, 2004 On Monday, August 2, 2004, the Caledonia FD was dispatched to a baler fire at 2918 McGovern Rd. in Caledonia. First in firefighters found a fully involved round baler. A quick response is credited with keeping damage to a minimum. Grain Silo fire - East Avon - Friday July 30, 2004 The East Avon Fire Department and Avon Ambulance were Dispatched to the Howlett Farm on East River Road for a reported Grain Silo fire on Friday afternoon July 30th, 2004 at approximately 2:00pm. The Avon Fire Department also was dispatched, by accident to this call as the caller thought the building was in the Avon Village Fire District. Car 27 went on location with a Grain Silo fire and was met by the farm who explained the situation. The fire was brought under control do to safety features built in the grain silo. The Lima Fire Department filled in for East Avon. Assisting at the scene was the Livingston County Sheriff's Office and the Avon Village Police Departments. |

Barn Fire - Groveland - Wednesday July 28, 2004 The Groveland Fire Department and Geneseo Ambulance were Dispatched to a reported Barn Fire at the intersection of Turner Road and Hill Top Drive on Wednesday afternoon, July 28th, 2004 at approximately 1:30pm. Car 3202 went on location with a working barn fire. He quickly called for Mutual Aid from Conesus, Geneseo, Mt. Morris, and Livonia Fire Departments to the scene. Dansville Fire Dept. filled in for Groveland Fire Dept., Leicester Fire Dept. filled in for Mt. Morris Fire Dept., and Livonia Fire Dept also filled in for Conesus Fire Dept. At approximately 6:00 pm Groveland Fire Dept. was dispatched to a rekindle. Then at approximately 11:00pm Groveland Fire Dept. and Geneseo Ambulance were dispatched to the area again, for a rekindle with extension to barns that were previously not involved. At the second rekindle the following Fire Departments assisted at the scene: Conesus, Sparta, Mt. Morris, Cuylerville, West Sparta, and Nunda. Leicester Fire Department filled in for both Mt. Morris and West Sparta, Dansville Fire Dept. filled in for Groveland Fire Dept., Springwater Fire Dept filled in for Sparta Fire Dept., and Livonia filled in for Conesus Fire Dept. MVA - Livonia - Thursday July 22nd, 2004 The Livonia Fire Department, Livonia Ambulance, and Livonia Ambulance ALS were dispatched to a reported 2 car MVA on East Lake Road near Van Zandt Road on Thursday evening, July 22nd, at approximately 21:30 hrs. Responding units went on location with a 2 car Head On MVA with multiple injuries. Additional ambulances from Geneseo and Lima and ALS from Avon and Monroe Ambulance responded to assist Livonia Ambulance. Both of Livonia's ambulances along with Geneseo's ambulance transported patients to area hospitals. Lima obtained a sign off and went back in service. Three MVA's - East Avon - Sunday July 11th - Monday July 12th, 2004 Thee MVA's Sunday July 11th to Monday July 12th, 2004 Keep East Avon Fire Department and Avon Ambulance busy. The first MVA was a two car MVA that occurred at approximately 08:15am on Sunday July 11th, 2004 at the intersection of East Avon Lima Road and Lakeville Road. It was reported with people trapped. The second was a Roll-over MVA that occurred on Sunday July 11th, 2004 at approximately 23:00 hrs on Lakeville Road near Wolcott Drive. The third MVA was a two car MVA at the intersection of North Avon Road and Oak Opening. In all MVAs at least one victim was transported to area hospitals. |

MVA - Geneseo - Saturday July 3rd, 2004 The Geneseo Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to a reported Roll Over MVA on Saturday Morning, July 3rd at approximately 1:00am on Avon Geneseo Road near Nations Road. East Avon Fire Department and Avon Ambulance also responded as the original call location was Avon Geneseo Road near Hogmire Road. Cars 3101 & 2701 went on location with a SUV rolled over in the ditch with all occupants out of the vehicle. Geneseo Ambulance and Avon Ambulance both transported patients to area hospitals. Investigating the cause of the Accident is the Livingston County Sheriff's Office. As units were clearing this scene, Geneseo Fire and EMS were requested back to 56 Second Street. Car 3101 requested East Avon to respond and assist again. |

Car 3102 went on location with a fully involved porch/working structure fire. Car 3101 arrived shortly and upgraded it for a fully involved structure fire. MVA - Avon - Thursday July 1st, 2004 The Avon Fire Department, Avon Ambulance, and Medic 70 were dispatched to a reported Vehicle into the house, on West Main Street at South Avon the morning of Thursday July 1st, 2004. Responding units found a vehicle into a multi occupancy building, with structural damage, and a victim laying beside the car. Avon Ambulance with Medic 70 transported one victim to an area hospital. RG&E was requested to the scene as the vehicle had struck a natural gas line when it went thru the building. Investigating the cause of the accident is the Avon Village Police Department. |

MVA - Geneseo - Wednesday June 30th, 2004 The Geneseo Fire Department, Geneseo Ambulance, and Medic 79 were dispatched to a reported multi vehicle MVA on Genesee Street (Rt. 63) at the entrance to the SUNY Geneseo Campus on Wednesday afternoon June 30th, 2004. Responding units found a tractor trailer had rear ended the last vehicle in line waiting for a traffic light to change, there were a total of 5 vehicles involved in the accident. Geneseo Command requested Mercy Flight to the scene. This accident turned into a double fatal and Geneseo Ambulance transported 2 additional patients to area hospitals. Investigating the cause of the accident is the Livingston County Sheriff's Office. Assisting at the scene was the New York State Police, the Geneseo Police Department, the Retsof Fire Department, and SUNY Geneseo Police Department. The East Avon Fire Department filled in for Geneseo while they were at the scene. |

MVA - East Avon - Thursday June 24th, 2004 The East Avon Fire Department, Avon Ambulance, and Avon Ambulance ALS were dispatched to a reported tractor trailer rollover on Interstate 390 South near Marshall Road on Thursday morning June 24th at approximately 3:00am. Car 27 went on location with a tractor trailer rolled over, the victim out of the vehicle, and a 300 to 400 gallon diesel fuel spill. Avon Ambulance with ALS transported one patient to Strong Memorial Hospital. Avon Fire Department stood by in quarters while East Avon was at the MVA. Structure Fire - Perry May 18th, 2004 The Perry and Perry Center Fire Departments and Perry Ambulance were dispatched to a reported working structure fire at 55 North Main Street, in the Village of Perry, on May 18th, 2004 at approximately 02:00am. This structure was the Park Lake Motel. Perry Police Department was the caller to Wyoming County Dispatch Center and reported there was a "possible" structure Fire. Perry Center 501, Robert Moyer, was the first fire unit on location and reported heavy smoke and fire on the second floor. Several Wyoming County Fire Departments assisted Perry & Perry Center. These departments include either to the scene or fill ins: Castile, Genesee Falls, Pike, Gainesville, Warsaw, Wyoming, Varysburg, Bliss, and Silver Springs. From Genesee County: Pavilion. From Livingston County, to the scene: Leicester all equipment; Cuylerville Tanker 167; Mt. Morris Tankers 416 & 417; Geneseo Pumper 316 & Ladder 318; Caledonia Tankers 116 & 117; Retsof Pumper 175 & Tanker 177; and York Tanker 157. Fill ins: Leicester FD: Caledonia 1 Pumper & Lima 1 Tanker; Retsof FD: Avon 1 Pumper; Mt. Morris FD: Nunda 1 Pumper; Dansville 1 Pumper fill in for Canaseraga; Nunda also sent 1 Pumper to fill in for Castile. From Monroe County: Mumford 1 Tanker to the scene; Scottsville 1 Tanker fill in, Retsof FD; Churchville 1 Tanker fill in for Mumford. And from Allegany County: Canaseraga 1 Pumper to fill in for Nunda. If we forgot someone, let us know and we will correct it. Assisting at the scene was the Castile Ambulance, the Perry Police Department, the Wyoming County Sheriff's Office, The American Red Cross, The Wyoming County Fire Bureau, and the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management. Trailer Fire - Leicester~Cuylerville May 17th, 2004 The Leicester and Cuylerville Fire Departments and Cuylerville Ambulance were dispatched to a reported House Trailer on fire at the Mint Trailer Park, 5502 Route 36, the morning of May 17th, 2004. First units on scene reported a working house trailer fire. Assisting Leicester and Cuylerville at the scene was the Mt. Morris, York, Retsof, Perry, and Perry Center Fire Departments and the Mt. Morris and Perry Ambulances. The Cuylerville Ambulance transported one victim to an area hospital. Investigating the cause of the fire is the Livingston County Office of Emergency Management. House Fire - Sparta - Friday May 14th, 2004 The Sparta Fire Department and Dansville Ambulance were dispatched to a reported House Fire on Liberty Pole Road, the early morning hours of Friday, May 14th, 2004. Sparta Car 55 went on location and advised of a working house fire. The Dansville Ambulance arrived, requested ALS Medic 79 to the scene. Dansville Ambulance with Medic 79 transported one of the residents with smoke inhalation to a local hospital. Assisting Sparta at the scene was the Conesus and Dansville Fire Departments. Dansville also provided a pumper for a Stand by at the Sparta Fire Station. Investigating the cause of the fire is the Livingston County Bureau of Fire. House Fire - Avon - Wednesday May 5th, 2004 The Avon Fire Department and Avon Ambulance were dispatched to a reported house fire at 221 Commerce Drive on Wednesday, May 5th, 2004 at approximately 5:15pm. Avon car 2201 went on location with a working fire. Moments later Car 22 upgraded that to a fully involved house fire and requested East Avon Fire Department to the scene. Assisting at the scene was the Avon Police Department and the New York State Police. House Fire - Dansville - Saturday May 1st, 2004 Quick action by the homeowner and a rapid response by the Danville Fire Department are credited with preventing a major fire in the Village of Dansville. An improper connection between a ceiling light electrical box and a BX cable in the home of James Stafford, 61 Main St. Dansville, resulted in a fire in the attic. The homeowners were watching TV at 5:45 pm when the power went out in the room they were in. Upon replacing the fuse, it immediately blew again. Mr. Stafford began searching for the problem and entered the attic where he found flames, about 6 to 7 inches high and getting bigger. 911 was called and a bucket of water applied. Trailer Fire - Canaseraga - Sunday April 18th, 2004 The Canaseraga Fire Department & Ambulance (Allegany County) were dispatched to a reported Trailer Fire & Field Fire on North Hill Road on Sunday evening, April 18th 2004 at approximately 11:50pm. Canaseraga Command requested a Tanker and man power from the Arkport Fire Department (Steuben County) to the scene and the Dansville Fire Department (Livingston County) to provided a crew with a Pumper for a stand by at the Canaseraga Fire Station. |

Apartment Complex Fire - Geneseo Saturday April 17th, 2004 The Geneseo Fire and EMS were dispatched to a "Smoke Detector Going Off" in an apartment at 12 Hillside Drive, Apartment 5 (the Meadows Apartment Complex), on Saturday April 1tth, 2004 at 3:55pm. Upon arrival of the Fire Chief and Geneseo Police Officer Christopher Haley, light smoke was in the area. Nearby apartment tenants heard smoke detectors going off of an unoccupied apartment. Officer Haley found fire beginning to come thru a downstairs window in the rear of the apartment. A "working fire" was declared by the Fire Chief. A crew from East Avon Fire Department Station #2 was requested to the scene and a crew from Retsof Fire Department to stand by in the Geneseo Fire Station. The fire was quickly knocked down by initial attack crews. Two cats were found by firefighters and quickly removed. Both pets were unharmed. The fire was caused by a tenant that had left a pot on the stove. Smoke and fire damage was limited to the apartment of origin. There were no injuries. Story provided by Andrew Chanler. House Fire - Lakeville Friday April 16th, 2004 The Lakeville Fire Department and Livonia Ambulance responded to a reported structure fire on Big Tree Road on Friday morning, April 16th, 2004 at approximately 4:00am. A Pumper from the Livonia Fire Department was requested to the scene. A quick extinguishment by interior firefighters from Lakeville & Livonia kept the damage to a minimum. The Geneseo Fire Department responded to the scene with a F.A.S.T. team. Investigating the cause of the fire is the Livingston County Bureau of Fire. House Fire - East Avon - Thursday April 8th, 2004 The East Avon Fire Department and Avon Ambulance were dispatched to a reported Chimney Fire at 1865 Pole Bridge Road on Thursday April 8th, 2004 at approximately 8:15 am. Responding units found heavy smoke from the chimney and smoke from the attic vents and eaves. Avon Fire Department was requested for their Quint and Thermo Imaging Camera to the scene. The fire at that time was confined to the chimney. Approximately 10am on the same date, East Avon Fire and Avon Ambulance were requested back to the residence for smoke in the structure. Responding units found a closet on fire. Avon Fire Department was requested to the scene with their Pumper and Thermo Imaging camera. It was determined that at one time a Chimney flue was covered by the construction of the closet and undetected radiant heat ignited the closet on fire. Lima Fire Department filled in for both East Avon and Avon on both calls. Assisting at the scene was the Livingston County Bureau of Fire, the Livingston County Sheriff's Office, the New York State Police, and the Avon Village Police Department. Monroe ~ Livingston EMS Step Conference The Monroe ~ Livingston EMS Step Conference banquet was held Friday evening April 2nd, 2004. Several people from Livingston County agencies received awards. Donna Bailey from Avon Ambulance received the ALS Provider of the Year Award. Not only does Donna volunteer her time with Avon as their Chief ALS Tech, she also volunteers with Caledonia M77 and works for Rural Metro and full time for Kodak. Heather Gross of the Livingston County Sheriff's Office received the Communicator of the Year Award. Heather provided EMD (Emergency Medical Directions) to a family whose infant had stop breathing. The child was successfully revived. Heather is also a member of the Geneseo Ambulance. EMS Coordinator Bill Sheehan received the Leadership Award. Chuck Kruger from Livonia Ambulance received the Lloyd Levee Award. And finally Andy Klein accepted the 10 Years of Service award for Genesee Valley ALS, Medic 77 and 7701. |

MVA - Retsof ~ York - Friday April 2nd, 2004 The Retsof and York Fire Departments, Ambulances, and ALS Medic 77 were dispatched to a reported 2 car motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Route 63 and Retsof Road on Friday afternoon April 2nd. ALS Medic 52 from Henrietta Volunteer Ambulance responded as an additional ALS unit. Investigating the cause of the accident is the New York State Police. |

Structure Fire - Livonia - Thursday April 1st, 2004 The Livonia Fire Department, Ambulance, and ALS were dispatched to a reported structure fire at the Livonia Station Grille located at 18 Livonia Station on Thursday April 1st, 2004 at approximately 05:30am. Car 2501 went on location and confirmed a structure fire on the East side of the building in the area of an exit door. The fire was under control rather quickly and units returned to service at approximately 07:00am. At approximately 09:20, Livonia Fire Department, Ambulance, and ALS were dispatched back to the same location for a fire in the attic area. Car 2502 went on location and requested Geneseo to the scene with one pumper and one ladder tower. Car 2502 also requested Lakeville Fire Department to fill in for Livonia.
